I hopped off the plane and was greeted by an ecstatic Mrs. J.
“Its great to see you again, Liz! Congrats, Grad!” She smiled.
“Thanks.” I smiled.
After we grabbed all of my suitcases, we headed to her house.
“The boys would’ve been here but they are putting the finishing touches on your loft.” She said.
“Cool.” I stated.
---
“Ugh, I’m sooo tired!” I yelled, flopping on the leather couch in the loft’s living room.
“How many times do I have to tell you and Joe not to jump on the couch?!” Nick asked.
“Sorry, mom.” I joked.
“So, Liz, are you excited that Juli and Randy are bringing your car tomorrow?” Joe asked.
“Duh, I miss my car!” I answered, “Plus, now I can drive myself to work!”
I worked at the movie theaters on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at Red Robin’s on Wednesdays.
I yawned and walked into my bedroom which was painted a nice shade of purple.
Joe’s room was across the living room and was painted navy blue, Nick’s room was to the right of Joe’s and was painted a bluish teal, and the guest room next to my room was painted a strawberry red.
Then the rest of the loft was vanilla and the bathroom was sky blue.
The living room had a black shag rug, the kitchen and bathroom were tiled, the dining room had wood floor, and all of our rooms were a white carpet which was good enough to do carpet angels on!
I was actually do carpet angels in my room when Nick walked in.
“What are you doing?” He asked, chuckling.
“Carpet angels.” I stated, annoyed.
“Well, would you rather do that or go grab a bite to eat?” He prompted.
“With or without Joe?” I questioned.
“He’s at Christine’s asking her to move in.” He winked.
“Aw! They make a cute couple!” I smiled.
I grabbed my hoodie and we made our way to his car.
---
When it finally stopped raining, Nick and I dinner while sitting on the roof of his car.
“Living life, life in the fast lane…” I sang, breaking the silence.
“Who’s to say that we won’t keep it real?!” Nick finished, chuckling.
“Did I tell you that the loft looks great?” I asked.
“No, but thanks.” He stated.
Suddenly it started to rain again.
“AH!” I screamed and got in the car.
He just laughed.
“What? Are you afraid to get a little wet?” He questioned, cocking an eyebrow.
“Yeah! I don’t wanna melt!” I joked.
“Weirdo.” He teased and drove us back.
