"Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life"

My alarm sang. It was only 5:45 a.m. and music already was playing in my ears. I crawled out of bed

and walked over to my calender.

"Monday...March...15th. Four more days until my life is ruined." I said quietly, but it was out loud.

I got dressed and left my house, driving my lovelyCamero.

I got to school, parked and walked into the sickening building.

How I dispise this school and can't wait to be free this June. Senior Year is definatly not all its cracked up to be. Well maybe not for me.

I opened my locker and felt a presence next to me.

"Hello, Braison." I said, annoyed.

"Hi, Liz!" He replied with a shy smile.

"Ready for our English exam?" I asked, shuting the stupid blue locker.

"Nope, I am 100% going to fail." He said.

We take AP english, that's why.

"Same." I stated and we walked off.

---at home---

"Hey, Lizzy. You got a phone call while you were at school." My mom greeted me and handed me a pink post-it. "That's the number. I advise you to call them back."

"Mom, that's Nick's number. I am not calling it." I said putting it down on the counter top.

"When I said 'I advise you to call' I meant call it. Now." She replied.

"Fine." I stated and dialed the number.

"ring, ring. ring, ring. Hey, its Nick. Sorry I can't pick up. Leave a message and I'll call back soon. Beep."

I hung up.

"he didn't answer?" she asked.

"nope. going to do homework. see ya later." and i trudged up the stairs.

--later--

I was listening to my best friend, Julianna's, i-pod because I let her borrow mine, while I borrowed hers.

My favorite song on it ended, how I do love 'The Date Song' from 'Disaster Movie'. The next song to play was "Year 3000".

"Ughhhh!" I screamed but didn't remove the headphones.

I sat there listening to the three voices I once knew so well...

FLASHBACK

"Come on Lizzy, you can't let the team down. Why don't you just ask the curly haired boy to toss with you. He looks lonely." My mom stated.

"Fine." I whined and walked over with my mitt and ball.

"Hi." I said. "I'm Liz, do you want to throw ball with me?"

He looked up, "Sure. I'm Nick. I just have a question. If you are a girl, then why are you playing Baseball?"

Just as he asked me that his mom came over.

"Nicholas Jerry! How dare you say that. Girls can do anything boys can do. Please say you are sorry." She scolded.

"I'm sorry." He mumbled.

We threw the ball back and forth until the coach told us to stop.

Fast-Foward to Summer

"Mommy, can you buy me some cookies, please!?" I asked hugging my mother's leg as we walked through the store."

"No, baby. I'm sorry." She stated and almost screamed when she saw the boy and his mommy. Was it Ick? I don't remember but I do know he had an older boy next to him.

"Denise!" my mom yelled.

"Tara! How good to see you!" She yelled back. I guess they became friends when the sat next to each other on the side of the field when Ick and I played Baseball.

"Hiya Icky." I said walking over.

"I'm Nick." He corrected.

"Ick, Nick, same thing." I stated and the other boy laughed a bit.

"And who are you?" I asked.

"Feisty. I'm Joe." He said, poking the ham in their cart."

"Okay then. So Ick- I mean Nick, who is your teacher?" I asked.

"I don't know. I don't think my mom is putting me in first grade this year." He explained.

"Of course she is. Why wouldn't she, Nick?" Joe asked.

"Cause she loves me to much to send me to that stinky place." He shrugged.

"Lizzy, honey. Would you mind staying with Nick this weekend while mommy and daddy go to Uncle John's Wedding?" My mom asked me.

"Fine." I whined.

End flashbacks.

In four days, Ham, Ick, and Kevo would be stopping by to celebrate my mom's birthday. How Exciting.

NOT!

If I have to spend more than Friday night with them I swear I will flip out.
