“Yeah, but I think you two would be cuter.” I stated.
“Shut up.” Liz ordered. I saw her cheeks turn the slightest hint of pink before she turned her head to look back at Nick and Moyar. We danced to a few more songs before Randy and Juli walked over, Randy asking to dance with Liz and Juli asking to dance with me.
“Do you see the look Liz is giving Moyar?” Juli asked.
“Yeah, but it doesn’t look like a jealousy look, more of a how-about-we-switch look.” I answered and Juli just laughed a little.
“You know she misses you guys. She wasn’t mad…She was just trying to avoid him because she felt bad about turning him down like that. She doesn’t like being around him because she’s afraid of her ‘secret’ slipping…” Juli explained.
“Why doesn’t she get that its not a secret!” I laughed.
“I don’t know.” Juli stated, shaking her head.
“Alright, Joe, I hate to steal her from you, but, I’d like my girlfriend back.” Randy said so I looked for Liz only to find her dancing with Nick Collin-something (who cares what his last name is!)
Five minutes later, she was dancing with Matt and that’s when Nick walked over to me.
“She’s been dancing with him forever!” I pointed out.
“At least you’ve had a dance with her. I, on the other hand, haven’t!” Nick complained.
“And this is coming from Mr. I’ll-just-take-pictures-with-some-random-girls-then-flirt-with-Moyar.” I said.
Before he could say anything, Liz walked over.
“Heyyyyy.” She smiled.
“Hi.” I said.
“Yo!” Nick said.
“Oh, you think you are so cool with your ‘yo-ing’ and what not!” I said.
“Why are you suddenly so mad at me?!” He asked, getting mad.
“Well its not like I PLANNED on being mad at you.” I emphasized the ‘plan’ part.
“I don’t mean to interrupt your fight, but, this prom is not as exciting as it is put off.” Liz said.
“Yeah.” We agreed.
“We can’t leave though. I promised them I’d stay for the whole thing so they could ride back in the Hummer.” Liz laughed as she said it.
“Darn.” I laughed along with her.
“What’s with you and your friends’ obsession with Hummers?” Nick asked.
“All I will say is they are amazing.” She smiled.
“Well…I’m going to get something to drink. Have fun.” I said and laughed in my head thinking about saying ‘not too much fun though.’
As I looked back, I congratulated myself because my plan worked. Leaving them alone gave Nick the guts to ask Liz to dance…or she asked him.
I smiled to myself thinking that either way worked and whispered, “Mission accomplished.”
Nick’s POV
‘Go on, Nick. Just ask her.’ I kept telling myself as Liz and I swayed along to Hollywood’s Not America by Ferras.
“Liz…doyouwannamaybegooutwithmesometime” I blurted out with my eyes closed so I couldn’t see her reaction.
She just started laughing...is that a good thing?
“What are you laughing at?” I asked and the music changed to Shake It by Metro Station.
“You! Hah! Because I know you all too well and I know that you are just messing with me! One that is not nice and two you can try and pull a fast one on me but it just won’t work this time Mr. Prankster!” She laughed.
MR. PRANKSTER?
“Hah, yeah, can’t get past you! You’re way to smart for me!” I said, going along with it, even though it hurt to be standing next to the love of my life who just turned me down by laughing at me.
Liz’s POV
After his little prank, Nick and I just danced quietly for a while.
I was in a daze analyzing what just happened, when they announced that Juli and Randy were Prom King and Prom Queen.
There was about a half an hour left of prom and I couldn’t wait to go home. But I can’t because I’m staying at the guys hotel.
“Hey, Liz.” Bryson said softly, shaking me from my thoughts.
“Yes…”
“Wanna dance?” He asked and I reluctantly accepted.
So we danced. Then my other ex Trevor asked me to dace and then my friend, Zack, from gym class did too.
“What am I? The person everyone goes to dance with when they get bored?” I asked.
“No. You just said you didn’t think I’d be here, so I’m here to prove you wrong!” He smirked.
“Oh.” I giggled.
We danced to She Will Be Loved by Maroon5.
For the last couple of songs, I danced with Nick and Joe but then Joe said he had something important to do and walked off.
The DJ signed off and the last song played was I’ll Be by Edwin McCain.
I laughed to myself and said to Nick, “Looks like Joe read your text.”
“Yeah.” He seemed tense as we danced.

Nick’s POV
“That was fun!” Collins said, sarcasm dripping off his lips.
“Sure.” Joe laughed, he thinks he’s so funny!
“So, what are the Prom King and Queen going to do tonight?” Liz asked, pretending to be a reporter shoving a mic in their faces.
“Go home and sleep the night away.” Juli answered.
“Ew, that’s disgusting!” Liz stated.
It took us all a while but we all finally yelled, “LIZ!”
She just laughed.
“I could say something really mean right now and ruin you, but I won’t because that’s how nice of a friend I am!” Juli said and Liz stopped laughing.
“That’s what I thought!” Juli said, getting into the limo, which I had to admit, was pretty awesome.
“That was fun. But not the funnest.” Liz said.
“So what was?” The other Nick asked.
“Iiiiiiiii ddddddoooooonnnnnnnn’tttttttt kkkkkkkkknnnnnnnnnoooooooooowwwwww.” Liz said.
“Hiding the truth?” Randy asked.
“HEH HEH HEH!” Liz laughed, evily.
“ELIZABETH ANNE KINGS!” Joe yelled, shocked.
“I’m joking!” She yelled back.
“Sure!” Sarah said.
“I am!” She defended.
“Then why won’t you tell us your funnest night?” The other Nick asked.
“Because…” She whined, “I don’t wanna!”
“AHA! She admitted it!” He said, pointing at her.
“Admitted what? What do you guys think I did for my funnest night?” She asked and we stayed quiet for a few seconds.
“EW, GUYS!” She said, finally getting it.
We all just laughed.
