Chapter 7

Drink the heart break away.

I wake up and try to comprehend what happened yesterday. Did Todd and I both cheat on Catherine and Jack? No it was just a little kiss, it meant nothing... okay that's a lie, it meant a lot to me.
Even though the kiss was nice and cute, I'm not leaving Jack to go for Todd because I really like Jack. As of right now me and Todd are strictly friends.

I hear a knock on my bedroom door but I'm too lazy to get out of bed

"Come in" I croak

"It's just me sleepy head" Kristen says poking her head into my room with a smile.

She walks over to my bed and sits down beside me

"What happened with you and Todd last night?" Kristen asks with a concerned look on her face

"Nothing why?" I responded casually while stretching my arms

"Todd broke up with Catherine..." she says look at me and watching as my face tenses

"That's too bad, I uh don't know why he would do that to her..." I said scratching the back of my head then looking at Kristen

"I didn't expect you to but Scott wanted me to ask" she says standing up "oh and I want to introduce you to our friend group today!"

-I don't want to go through all the introductions so I'm skipping to after they had left-

Today I met quite a few people plus my other roommate Jason came home so everyone surprised him but soon after David blindfolded him and put rats on him

I met Davids girlfriend Liza, she's so sweet and so funny, she'd make a great best friend.
I also met Alex he was making me laugh all day and telling me that he likes my nose which made me laugh harder.
I met Zane and Heath and I can't stop saying "baaaby" ever since but I'm not mad about it
Lastly I met Gabby who I've watched on YouTube a couple times and makes me laugh even harder in person.

After a long day I get in my pyjamas and lay in bed, I haven't seen Todd all day
He was in his room all day and hasn't made an effort to talk to me, it kind of hurts but I need to talk to him

I get out of bed and make my way across the hall to Todd's room, I knock on the door and I hear Todd mumble so I just walk in

"Todd? Are you okay? You look awful" I say sit next to him on the edge on his bed
His eyes were tear stained and he was staring at the wall in front of him which a bottle of whiskey in his hands

"I didn't break up with Catherine" he says looking to the floor

"Okay so you guys are still together, why are you upset about that?" I ask rubbing his back

"We aren't together" he says look me in the eyes, his eyes were filling with tears "sh-she dumped me"

He look at the floor again and took a swig of whiskey but I took the bottle from his hand and placed it on the ground, I grab his face to make him look at me

"Todd listen to me, you are a great guy and Catherine didn't deserve you and neither do I. You don't need her and you are better than this, don't drink the heart break away because it's not going to heal you.. it will break you" I plead looking into his eyes that are dripping with tears

Todd nods and I help him get up and get into bed, I tuck the blankets around him and kiss him on the forehead "goodnight Todd"

"Goodnight Madeline, thank you for being here for me" he says dozing off

I open his room door and look back at him falling asleep "im sorry" I whisper but he doesn't hear me then I leave the room and head to bed.
