Chapter 3

Cute guy at the grocery store.

After leaving Todd's room I walk across the hall to my room and get dressed for today. I put on a white lace shirt with a pastel pink cardigan over top with some ripped light jeans.
I curl my hair into beach waves and put on the slightest amount of makeup

I walk into the kitchen and realize that I can't just help myself to their food so I decide to head to the grocery store and get some groceries.

-skip to the grocery store-

I walk down the cereal isle and I'm looking for something to buy when I get hit with a cart

"Dude what the fu-" as I turn around I'm lost for words when I see this boys face, he's gorgeous; his jawline is perfectly chiselled and his deep brown green eyes are absolutely gorgeous.

"I'm so sorry" he says, his voice is something I hadn't heard before, it shot tingles down my spine

"You know what? It's fine, don't worry about it" I said with a laugh and a smile

"My names Jack" he said looking into my eyes

"Madeline" I responded looking away towards the cereal once again

There's a little pause before he speaks again

"I'll leave you to your shopping, have a great day and again I'm sorry" he says touching my cardigan as he walks by

•| just a note, yes I have heard the leaked audio but I wrote this before I had found out & they are different people in the book away|•

I finish shopping, check out and head home. When I reach the house I sit in my car for a bit and think about my encounter with Jack wishing I had got his number. I got out on my car and when to put my keys into my pocket when I felt a piece of paper, I pull it out to see a name and number written on it.

I pull out my phone and send a text to the number

                    Grocery store boy

M: you think you're sneaky slipping your number in my pocket huh?
J: well I mean it worked so I guess lol :)

I smile and turn off my phone and go inside to the kitchen to start unpacking the groceries I just bought

"SWEET! you bought pizza pockets!" I turn around to see a highly excited Todd walking towards me

"Yep" I say laughing at his excitement as I pass him the package

He catches the package and leans on the counter observing me put away the groceries, I try reaching for the top shelf but I'm too short but I keep trying until I feel two hand around my waist lifting my towards the shelf. I look down and see Todd smiling at me but moments after I look back at the shelf and put the cans on it I'm dropped and I fall to the ground.

Sitting on the ground where I was dropped I look up at Todd who wasn't facing me and started to walk away. I'm trying to collect what just happened but I fell on my tailbone and it hurts too much to think. After I minute I hoist myself up using the counter to help, I then follow to where Todd went but when I walk into the living room I'm stopped in my tracks when I look out the window.

I see Todd and a tanned girl with ombré hair clearly arguing until Todd grabs her face and crashes his lips onto hers.

Clearly Todd is off limits and I'm not going to lie I'm a little jealous but I'm sure he's happy. I go back into the kitchen to continue putting away the groceries, moments later Todd walks in and I turn to him and cross my arms.

"I'm sorry about what just happened, it's just my girlfriend Catherine is very protective and she had walked in on me helping you up and took it the wrong way" he explains with a sincere look on his face

My heart drops as soon as he admits that he's taken but I have to say something "it's okay I totally get it, you guys seem very cute" I say smiling at the ground

"Thanks for understanding" he says before engulfing me in a hug

I pry him off and say "I don't think that's a good idea if your girlfriend is over protective"

He looks at me and nods in agreement
