Following these events, more than two weeks went by without Darell and I talking to each other. He was disappointed by me and I understood why but at the same time I was still upset at him for not telling me that he was once engaged while I opened myself to him. However, today was Estephania and Jamal's baby shower so my thoughts were elsewhere.

When I woke up that morning, I got ready quickly, because I had a manicure and pedicure appointment at 9 o'clock. I also had to go buy a gift at Toy's R Us. As soon as I got ready, I left the house without eating. I took the bus then the subway till downtown. Before my appointment, I went to buy a breakfast at Tim Horton's.

When my appointment was done and my gift was bought, I returned home. It was noon when I arrived. My father and Lens were wrapping the presents in the living room. I greeted them, give them my gift and went upstairs to my room to get ready since the the baby shower will take place at Estephania's parents at 4 p.m. As the theme of the baby shower was all white, I put on a white jumpsuit and flattened my wig then did my edges.

At 1:30 p.m. my parents, lens and I left the house and headed to Estephania's house to help her family with the decorations. Jamal was already there. Malik, him, stayed home since he had to go pick Jamal's friends later in the afternoon.

We arrived at  Estephania's at 2 p.m. The moment where Estephania's mother welcomed us and invited us to enter we could hear Latin American music in the background.

My mother and Estephania's mother went to put the presents in their garage. As for my father and Lens, they went to help Estephania's father with the barbecue.

Although it was mid-February the weather since a week ago was unusually hot for the season. The snow had almost all disappeared and there was a shining sun.

When everyone left the entrance, I headed into Estephania's room. As soon as I stepped in, I saw her and her cousin Marianna. They were already dressed. I said "hi" to Marianna and she greeted me as well.

Then I complimented Estephania who wore an open shoulder salmon pink flared maxi dress and high heels in the same colour as the dress. With her tanned skin and white nail polish, this colour suited her perfectly. She had lightly waved her long hair and her makeup was absolutely gorgeous and sparkling.

We spent an hour in her room talking about her fear of childbirth, taking pictures of her and us. Before we decided to go join the others, Marianna and I fixed Estephania's hair and makeup. Right after, we headed to the living room where the baby shower was happening.

When we arrived in the room, we went to greet everyone who was there. There were members of their family and mines and the professional photographer they hired.  While we greeted the guests, Malik arrived with Jamal's close friends including Hakim. The guys were looking good dressed in white. Even Malik did an effort with his look. His long locs as always were cleanly twisted and his fade haircut was on point. Jamal, that I had not seen when we arrived, suddenly appeared behind me what made me remember that he told that Cataleya would be born between the end ofJuly and the beginning of August. When he saw me, he greeted me and then immediately left with his friends and Malik to drop their gifts at the garage.

When they left, I joined my cousins who wanted to know a little too much about Jamal and Estephania's couple. I could barely hear them since Estephia's uncles who had already started to drink with some of my uncles were debating loudly.

The girls arrived at half-past five. By the time they arrived, the baby shower had already started to be lit. A few minutes after their arrival, the football guys and the coach arrived. They greeted everyone and we told them the guys were in the garage.
