As soon as my brothers and I arrived home, our mother asked me how was Dorcas' brother. At first, I didn't get it. Then, I remembered that I asked Lens to cover me if our parents were looking for me.

So that she wouldn't suspect anything, I answered while playing with my fingers, "Sorry umama it's been a long night. I feel tired but he's doing better. She was worried. I didn't want to leave her alone." Then I lowered my eyes slightly.

"You're a good friend ndodakazi yami" She kissed my forehead and kept her way to the kitchen.

I felt so bad lying to her, but because of our cultural traditions that my parents respect, even if I introduced Darell as my boyfriend, I couldn't sleep at his place and he couldn't sleep at mine until we are married.

Right after my mother left the entrance, my brothers and I went up to our respective rooms. I fell asleep as soon as my body lay down on my bed.

The next morning, Jamal woke me up at 5 o'clock. He told me that he had a meeting with his coach at 7. So, if I wanted a lift to our college I had to hurry and be ready in 30 minutes.

As it was Friday, I remembered that Malik told me when we talked about our schedules during the Holidays that he had no class on Fridays.

When Jamal left, I got up from my bed, took a quick shower and made sure that my wig was fixed. Since I had no time, I put on foam to curl my hair and picked the first outfit I found to wear. I then walked down the stairs at full speed. When I came downstairs, Jamal was about to put his coat on. I took my coat and put it on as well. Then, we left our parents' house.

On our arrival at the University, we went on separate ways. As I was hungry, I decided to go to the cafeteria to buy myself some food to eat. Since it was too early, I could only order a muffin and a smoothie. After paying, I found myself a table next to the gigantic window. I sat and started to eat. While I was eating, I was texting Dorcas and Estephania. Then I texted Darell. I was about to drink my smoothie when I saw Darell's ex arrived in the cafeteria. When she saw me, she started to walk towards me and took a seat at my table without even asking.

"Hi," she said so nicely.

"Hi?" I said wondering why she came to talk to me.

"I heard from some people that you are dating my Ex?"

"Who's your ex again?" I asked stupidly.

She answered with a lot of attitude moving her head, " I think you know damn well who I'm referring to since you were spying on us."

"Now that you're saying that I do remember you. You're the girl who was talking with my boyfriend."

I saw on her facial expression that she didn't appreciate at all hearing the words boyfriend from my mouth.

I added, "Can I be real with you? I don't know why you asked if you already knew. Don't play it to me and tell me bluntly what you want. Even if I imagine you want to have him back."

"That's exactly what I want. I don't wanna hate on you sis, I just want my fiancé back. I made a mistake when I walked away, but I know deep down he still loves me. A story like ours cannot be forgotten." She said with a lot of attitudes.

All I had retained from her sentence was the words fiancé coming out of her mouth that broke my heart.

Salmiya smiled meanly, "Seeing your face, he didn't tell you that we were engaged. If you don't believe me, ask him. I have to go."

I didn't answer her. The only thing I was thinking about is why he didn't tell me? And what else he keeps from telling me?

After she left, I immediately grabbed my phone and texted Darell to meet me outside in front of the college. This news had cut my appetite. So I threw away my smoothie and headed to where I told him to join me.
