STEF POV

"Come in sweets. You can put your bag on the table." I said as Callie followed hesitantly behind me. "Might be tad dusty since I haven't been here in sometime. But I can wipe it down and should be fine."You hungry love?"

"No." She said quietly placing her bag on the table as I did the same.

"Ok well as usual I'm starving.  So how about we change, unpack some and head into town. I can pick up some food for us and we can come back and cook?"

"Whatever." She shrugged rolling her eyes and taking a seat on the kitchen bar stool as I shook my head at her usual behavior. Sure I wasn't expecting it to change and I still had hope we would break the ice a bit.

"Alright, let me show you the rooms. Yeah?" Glancing annoyed at me as usual I grabbed my bag as she reluctantly followed behind me. Sucking up whatever pain I was feeling from being here everything looked the same as it did when I came a few months ago. Part of me had wanted to bring Callie up here once I realized Sharon had left me the cabin for when I was young I had many good times here with her. It was really where I had learned to play the guitar the best even picking up piano. In some sense it was like a recording studio for Sharon and I and we even preformed in town a few times.

"So love you can take this room if you like. It was actually mine when Sharon and I would come up."

"Why do you call her Sharon? "Wasn't she your mom?" Callie surprisingly asked as she laid her bag on the bed and unpacking a few of her things.

"Um out of habit I guess. And um yeah she was. For a little while anyway."

"Oh. But you call Captain Roberts mama?"

"Sometimes. Not always. I mean I called Sharon the same but more often I guess. I was alot younger with her."

"How old were you when you went to live with Captain Roberts?"

Seeing it was one of the few times Callie was asking me questions I walked in the room and took a seat on the bed. Not to close for when I did get close to her she always tensed up.

"Um I was pretty old. 20."

"And she just let you stay with her?"

"Well yeah, there were tons of rules and I couldn't just do my own thing like I was use too. She was very strict."

"Yeah. Did she ever kick you out?"

"No. I mean I messed up many times as usual but she never kicked me out. She always tried to help."

Staring very intensely into my eyes I wasn't even sure what she was thinking and I was wondering if I should dare ask anything about her and the people she lived with. Breaking eye contact with me and nodding her head she continued to take things out of her bag and I even saw some of the clothes I bought her in it.

"Why didn't you move in with Lena?"

"Um, she was away. She was in college studying and we were just we were too young. And I um I probably wasn't the best girlfriend at the time for her."

"Why?"

"Um too many issues I needed to take care of."

"Like me?"

"No. Yes I was working on getting custody of you but you weren't an issue or a problem love. Ever. You were a sweet little girl."

Seeming as if she didn't believe me she emptied her bag and I could really see she had so many things on her mind.

"Callie you can ask me anything and I will be honest with you. I will baby."

Rolling her eyes at me yet again she shook her head.
