Chapter 12
Gabby's POV
"Here we are." He puts his car in park, and I unbuckle my seat belt as I peek around.
The place was calm and peaceful, just as he explained, and it appears we're one of the very few cars in the parking lot.
"Are they open?"
"Business is slow here, but I kinda like it that way. It's more private."
I smile softly, as he opens the door for me.
"Thanks."
The place was lit by small twinkling lights hanging from the ceiling, and an aquarium sat at the front of the restaurant.
"Hi, welcome to Italian Garden." A girl near our age, with extremely dramatic makeup greets us, guiding us to our table.
She seats us toward the opposite side of the restaurant, a more dim secluded area.
"May I start you two off with some beverages?" She asks looking at Kade.
"Yeah, I'll have tea." He guves a small smile as I pick up the menu.
"Same for me." I say politely.
"I'll be back with your beverages." She eyes Kade once more before leaving and I can't help but chuckle a bit after she walks off.
"What?" He grins at me with confusion.
"You really don't see the way women look at you." We both laugh a little.
"No, I guess I don't." He replies.
"You know uh....gosh what's her name with shoulder-length hair, and cakey face makeup that's orange around the edges in English Lit?" I try hard to think of her name.
"Laura?" He looks at me a little amused.
"She's really uh...down for it." We both laugh hard.
"You're funny." He grins looking down at the table for a second.
"Yeah, you aren't too boring." I laugh.
Before we both realize it, the waitress places down our teas in front of us.

"I really enjoyed dinner." He smiles softly at me, as we stand at my doorstep.
"Yeah, me too. Thanks for paying, you didn't have to."
"Nah, my specialty." He grins a little.
"Do you want to come in?" I ask referring to my door with my keys in hand.
"Sure."
He follows from behind me, and I move aside, allowing myself to close the door behind him.
"Nice place." He looks around a bit, before finally turning back to me.
"Thanks."
