Chapter 8

-2 months later-

Gabby's POV

"Ohhhhhh, Gabbyyyy." I hear a coo in my ear, and turn over in fright, falling off the edge of my bed and straight onto the floor.

"I'm getting a new lock." Talking into my pillow as my face is planted in it.

I quickly crawl back into bed and pull the covers over me completely.

"Nope. Come on, it's time to get up." I ignore her and attempt to go back to sleep.

"Gabby." I groan at her in irritation.

I feel my pillow be snatched up from underneath me and she immediately starts hitting me with it.

"Jess!" I whine to her, and she stops. A moment passes, and I almost think she surrenders until she pulls at my ankles in attempt to drag me out of bed.

I shriek immediately as my body drags down the canvas and valley of my bed's mattress.

"Agggghhh!" I cry out as I fall off onto the floor and sigh, planting my face flat on the floor.

"Phew, God you're heavy" She pants.

"What do you know, the floor isn't so uncomfortable after all." I snuggle up in my blanket, before they're ripped from my hands, and I whine at the absence of their warmth.

"Remind me again why we're friends?" I question her in annoyance.

"Because you love me, and I love you, and it's because I love you that I got ready two hours ahead, so you'd be ready for college. Come on Gabby. Today is crucial." She pauses for a few moments and realizes I'm not going to move.

"I'm serious, get up." She demands me as if she were my mother.

I don't even dare open my eyes as I continue to try to sleep and reach my hand up to Jess' face, and spread my hand out on it.

"Silencio, por favor." I say with an accent and she groans.

"Well I was thinking in celebration of us finally being college girls, possibly buying us Bruster's tonight, I don't know maybe even birthday cake ic-"

I peel my eyes open wide.

"I'm up." I jolt up as fast I can, and attempt to quickly take off to the bathroom before nearly stumbling over.

"Woah." I let out a deep breath, my heart pounding a bit from the near-fall.

"Maybe you shouldn't get up so fast." I
dart my eyes at her.

"Okay, Okay. Can you please just get ready?" She sighs, and I put my blankets back on my bed.

"Thank you." She smiles, curling up in my bed and snuggling up with my comforter, leaving me in disbelief.

"Uhm, excuse me m'am–" I stop.

"Nevermind. I'm going to shower." I leave Jess to sleep as I head to the bathroom and rub my eyes.
