Gabby's POV
I hadn't had in mind what I should tell Aunt Katherine about Nash and I's relationship. What could I say to her about Nash? When she asked how we meet, I simply said Highshool.
She grinned at me for a quick moment and it faded as seconds passed.
"Did you two date in highschool?" She looks over at me in curiosity. I don't know what to say, my heart nearly rips out of my chest as I think of how to reply.
"We were just friends." I smile softly and I can feel the intense anxiety building up inside me.
I finally shrug her questions off, knowing if I told my Aunt about Nash and I's past, she'd most likely demand me file a restraining order, regardless of how much I'd try to convince her Nash has changed.
-----
I plop myself down onto the queen-size mattress, completely exhausted and unsatisfied to find it empty.
I quickly send Nash a text asking where his where abouts are, considering it looks like it's going to storm outside.
It's only 6 in the afternoon and I'm already sleepy.
I turn the volume up on my phone, while plugging it into the charger, but making sure if I get any messages or calls I will hear it and wake up.
I sigh, kicking off my shoes onto the floor and laying my head back onto a pillow behind my head lazily.
Before completely dozing off I hear my phone ding, and quickly reach for it to slide open the message.
"We're 15 minutes away. We left a while ago because of the rain and lightning. See you in a bit."
"Okay." Is all I have the energy to reply, my phone slipping through my fingers as I struggle to keep my eyelids up, and my phone quickly jolts them open as I feel the impact of it crash on my face.
"Owe." I murmur, groaning a little and shoving my phone aside again.
My eyelids finally gain victory, and I close my eyes in defeat.
----
I quickly burst my eyes open and jolt, feeling arms wrap around me and I finally realize my surroundings.
"Did I scare you?" I hear Nash's familiar voice and smile.
"Hmm, no." I look to him and kiss his cheek, missing him.
I notice him peer at me, as if his mind is wandering elsewhere.
"What's wrong?" I place my hand up to his neck and he shakes his head quickly decling my question.
"Tell me." I beg staring into his striking blue eyes.
He kisses my cheek, and snuggles his head into the crook of my neck and I lay my head to the side, against his.
I run my hand through his locks, and examine him as he quietly continues to keep to himself whatever he's holding in.
"Please." I plead and he sighs a little.
"I just can't stand that you're with me." I look at him confusion, stopping the movements of my fingers immediately from gis hair.
"What are you talking about?"
"I wasn't there when you needed me the most." He looks at me, almost as a sad dog, and my lungs collapse for a quick second.
"You're mom and dad, and the accident." I gulp at the memory a huge lump forming in my throat, and Nash frowns.
"You're here now though, that's what matters to me." I run my fingers up the back of his head, he quickly shrugs it off.
"Your uncle told me everything. It's killing me Gabby. I don't even know how you can still look at me." He turns his head a little and my heart is pounding harder than ever.
I move my hand to his cheek, demanding he look at me.
"I love you, Nash. I trust you, because I've see the change in you. I understand it, we're all going to make mistakes, but you weren't mine." I look at him, not leaving his eyes for a moment.
"Of course, I was hurt. But I eventually opened up to you again, and you're different than you were now, than you were...pretty much nearly 3 years ago." My desperate attempts to bring his mind at eaze keeps me on edge, nervous of his next comment.
He has moved, his face hovering over mine. Only a few seconds pass before I feel his hand on my cheek, and he looks as if he's thinking of what to say next.
"I know but-"
"It's okay." I interrupt him, trying to keep his thoughts quiet.
"That's not you anymore." He closes his and I observe him with a frown.
"Kiss me." I whisper, commanding him.
He opens his eyes for a moment before lowering his head, and I run my hand up higher at the back of his hair His kiss is slow, passionate, and our lips sync perfectly in rythym.
Moments pass, and both of us are interrupted by an abrupt knock at the door.
We both pause for a few moments.
"Hey kids, whenever you're done with–whatever it is you're doing..." Nash chuckles a little, both of us grinning a bit, as she continues.
"Come downstairs so we can discuss what to do for dinner."
"She's right we shouldn't stay crammed up in here. We should be downstairs with them." Nash reminds me quietly and I nod, agreeimg with his statement.
"Thanks Aunt Katherine!" I yell back so she can hear.

-A week later-
It was time to leave Dothan, and
head back home to Greensboro.
I hugged Aunt Katherine tightly, not wanting to let her go. Uncle Fred, Dalton, and Nash conversate with one another, and tears slip from my eyes.
"I think Nash is a keeper." She smiles while glancing at him.
"Yeah he is." I smile back, just before giving Uncle Fred a huge hug. I was going to miss this, afterall it did feel like home.
"I'm going to miss you sweet girl." Uncle Fred wraps his arm around me in a bear hug.
I don't want to leave. And I definitely don't want to leave them behind, but I don't have an option. We all bid our farewells and Nash packs our stuff in the backseat of Dalton's car and head off away.
I know short and pretty much uneventful but, good stuff coming soon I promise!
