Heart of Stone

Here I have my heart of stone
One that aches to be left alone
One that hides in a sanctuary of bone
One, of the blackest tone

One so full of burning pain
One that leaves me so far from sane
Not one of vein
But one so vain
My heart I can not sustain

My heart is an icy lake
And for love it does not ache
That does not mean it does not break
Nor does it mean it's false or fake
It simply wishes to not risk mistake

Yet one has come and broken the ice
One has gambled and rolled the dice
One I think that shall not suffice
But all still willing to pay the price
One, who has brought Paradise

So now my heart no longer stone
One that will never be alone
One no longer caged by bone
Yet still of the blackest tone
Has another to call mine own
