Today was the day. The day I'll loose one of my closest girl friends. The day she is no longer gonna be in my life. Lizzie.

I turn my head from one side to the other, my eyes closed. I weakly open them squinting by the light shining in my eyes. I check my phone realising that today Lizzie will be moving. No more of the geeky, but beautiful girl I have in my life. I won't have any contact with her because her parents won't let her have a phone anymore after she lost her last one about 3 months ago. I jump out of bed and hope in the shower. The hot water falling down my body like a waterfall. I get out wrapping the towel around me and squeeze my wet hair a over he sink.

"I left you something, but you have to find it." Lizzie informs me. "It's where we first met." She winks. Lizzie smiled and walked to the removal truck. Her mum driving. Where's her stepdad?

"Lizzie?" I ask. She turned and walked back to me.

"Where's your stepdad?" I ask.

"Home." She adds. But what does she mean 'home'?

"him and mum had a fight and that's really why we're moving." She mumbles as she looks to her feet.

"That's the real reason?" I ask. My vision blurred by tears. Her mum honked the horn and Lizzie ran to the truck, with tears rushing down her cheeks.

"Lizzie wait?" They drove off, Lizzie looking back and waving at me. Where we first met? At the tree in the water.

"Hey Lea." Chase walked up to me. I couldn't hear him properly, I was too focused on getting to that note. I glanced at Chase for a second then turned around and started running. Chase followed behind.

"Lea." He was puffed. "Where are we going?" He coughs as he lets out the words.

"Just follow." I say without a problem. I'm used to running. I run away from everything my family, my feelings, Chase. Even thought I don't like running away from him, sometimes I have to.

We get to the water and it's high tide. I could see the note in the tree, but it was close to falling in the water. But how was I meant to get there? The water is about 4 meters deep over there, and I'm not a good swimmer. I look back to find Chase walking up to me. I turn back around to see the note, and take off my shoes. I run into the water then diving right in. I come out of the water, taking a breath. I swim out to the note. Struggling as the tide fights to take me out to sea.

"Leah!" Chase screams out as I go under. I struggle to fight my way out of the water as the tide continues to drag me under. I fight my way to the top of the water, urging a breath. I finally come up out of the water, deeply breathing and coughing up water

"Leah, just get out of the water, your gonna kill yourself!" Chase yells out.

"No! I have to get that note!" I yell as I swim closer to the tree with the note tapped to the branch.

"Leah just swim back while you can." Chase yelled out with his feet just in the water ready to swim to help me.

"I can't swim back the currents too strong! I have to get to that tree." I look back as a wave crashes over my head. I swim up above the water and keep swimming to the note. Chase swims up to me no problem. He used to swim in competitions.

We finally swum to the tree and I grabbed onto a branch. Chase did the same.

"The tides gotten lower already." Chase said.

"And calmer." I add.

We climb up to the top of the tree where the note is. It wasn't that far to climb since the water was high tide, and up to the middle of the tree.

I open the note with shaken hands and read:

Leah.
