"This place is where we lived for awhile," Xira started, pulling over next to a hill. "Till my dad decided to move us to an even more expensive part of this state with a home-wrecker." She said, getting out of the car, Cloud nearly instantly at her side. "But dude, Y/N, it's your birthday. We should stop talking and start celebrating. You're 18 today! You can start going to c--" Cloud covered the girl's mouth before she could finish her sentence. I laughed, knowing full well what my sister was going to say. I never liked having the spotlight all on me. That was my sister. So, when she magnified that it was my birthday, (which everyone knew anyway) I was immediately red as a beet.

"So, I say we celebrate. With your favorite song." Xira smirked, going to the car and turning her phone on, connecting it to the Bluetooth. I began shaking my head rapidly, knowing what she was about to do.

"Nononononononono," I pleaded with her, but it was all in vain. "N-No, Xira, that's not necessary. A party in my old backyard is celebration enough!" Too late. I heard the nostalgic intro blast through the speakers of her oh-so-precious 4Runner. She grabbed my hands as a slight pout spread across my face. She was nearly prancing around the top of the fairy light-lit hill.

"Every clock is ticking faster.
Taking trips around the sun.
Another year, another chapter.
Five, and four, and three, and two, and one~"

I finally gave in, not being able to resist the urge to sing along with her. I mean, this was one of the songs that described basically our whole entire childhood.

"Drop your calls, lose your keys,
Before the night is gone~
Get yourself out your seat.
Quit complaining, move your feet,
Until the break of dawn~
'Cause nobody really cares about the day that you were born~~"

I noticed Cloud recording, smiling behind the camera as my sister and I jumped around like idiots on the top of a hill.

But I didn't care.

I just turned 18.

They can't tell me not to jump around like an idiot with all my best friends. ^-^

This song's for everyone who it ain't your birthday!
You gotta party like it's not, party like it's not.
This song's for anyone who's having the worst day.
You gotta party like it's not, party like it's not.

Party like it's not, party like it's not.
Like it's not your birthday!
Party like it's not, party like it's not.
Party like it's not, party like it's not.
Like it's not your birthday!

Xira had let go of my hands and grabbed onto Cloud, who was laughing along with her as he spun her around bridal style. He had given the camera to Tifa, who was now filming all the random and stupid things my friends were doing. Ah, I loved them. Squall and Riku, being the little dips they were, just sat to the side and watched everyone have fun. Cloud put Xira down, and she ran to join me in convincing the two to join us. Now, instead of convincing him, we just picked their asses up off the ground and made them join us.

Take a moment of the good life,
Chase it down until you fall.
365 nights, 🌙
Why just one if we can have them all?

Drop your calls, lose your keys,
Before the night is gone.
Get yourself out your seat.
Clap your hands, move your feet.
Until the break of dawn.
~Cause nobody really cares about the day that you were born~

Party like it's not, Party like it's not,
Like it's not your birthday
Party like it's not, party like it's not
Party like it's not, party like it's not,
Like it's not your birthday
Party like it's not. party like it's not

"We should head back," I suggested, the party still raging at the rental beginning to come back to me. Everyone agreed, climbing in the car. Tifa beat Cloud to shotgun, earning grumbling under his breath in return. He instead sat behind Xira, wrapping his arms around her shoulders as she climbed into the driver's seat. I sat between him and Riku in the middle, Squall taking his turn in the back.

The song continued to play through the speakers, the windows down so the whole world could hear that we were infinite.

OK, let's lose control
I wanna see everybody on the floor
Go and send your invitations
Do it now 'cause time is wasting
Life is tough so fill them cups
One life to live, I'm a live it up
Drinks go up, drink em' down
Turn it up, wake up the town
Ok, Check it out, here's the plan
We gonna dance till we can not stand
Move your feet to every beat
Not bad, bring it back, put it on repeat
We gonna party till the break of dawn
I don't even know how I'm getting home
But it's alright, it's OK
It's not even my birthday!

Arriving back at the house, we crept back into the backyard, where the party was still raging. Ironically, the same song was playing through the large bass speakers as in the car. The same part. Cliché, I know. But hey? You remember what today was. 😊

Party like it's not, party like it's not
Party like it's not, party like it's not
Like it's not your birthday
Party like it's not, party like it's not
Party like it's not, party like it's not

This song's for everyone who it ain't your birthday
You gotta party like it's not, party like it's not
This song's for anyone who's having the worst day
You gotta party like it's not, party like it's not
(Like it's not your birthday)
Party like it's not, party like it's not
(Like it's not your birthday)
Party like it's not, party like it's not
(Like it's not your birthday)
Party like it's not, party like it's not
(Like it's not your birthday)
Party like it's not, party like it's not
