The door bell rang and I wondered if it was Jake but then I went and opened it and saw Henry standing there.

"Hey" Henry said after some time

"Hi" I said

"Are we staying here for a while" Henry said

And I realized that we are at my doorstep

"Sorry, come in" I said

"My dad isn't here, so you aren't staying here for a lot of time

"Ok, can I talk to you for a second" Henry said and I already know something is up because he sounds a little bit angry

"Sure, shoot it" I said trying to be funny but I know I screwed up

"Why were you hugging that dog in his damn car and why did he carry you off school campus" he shouted a little

"Easy Henry, he just wanted to talk" I said backing up a little

I didn't care how he knew about this but I cared so much that he sounds a little bit ......jealous

"Talk..?!!" Henry said while walking towards me closing up the spaces I have made by backing up to the wall

"He explained stuff to me, stuff the old me needed to hear so she could let go and let me live without holding grudge" I said tearing up and noticing him calm down

"I am sorry" He said

"I was angry because you forgot about my parent's invitation to dinner today" He said calming down

"Shit!!" I thought

"I am so sorry when Jake took me I am so sorry" I said apologizing

"Its okay, its 2 o'clock we can make it there if you want to go" Henry said

"Of course I want, just let me go change" I said already running upstairs

I changed into light blue jeans and a maroon blouse which shows my tummy a little and I found a beige colored boots I put them on and let my hair down since I had it in curls anyway I put on some mascara and lip gloss then ran downstairs

"Do I look good or should I change into a dress or something" I asked Henry

"No don't change into a dress it's a casual dinner not a formal one"

Henry said

"Are you sure" I asked worried

"I am sure" He said

Then I left a note for my parents and then we went in my truck with Henry driving

My parents are almost never around.

Dad's a military sergeant and he is always in position and sometimes gets called to go to Texas.

That is how he met Shelly.

She was a nurse in his group and when he moved back, he asked her to marry him.

That is why Shelly and I are so close, she spent time with me more than my own father cause he was always in some country.

But when he left the group and earned himself a medal of honor he was moved to chief officer of the police unit in our town.

He is on a break this days and he is always out with Shelly making up for all the time he was never home.

Never did it hurt me them not being there.

He was doing his job and now he is also doing his job by taking care of his marriage.

I wish he told me more about mom.

Guess he was never around her either.
