Don't worry, I'm not promoting anything!
Promoting your book is quite important. Especially if you want people to find you easily and get discovered. There are many ways you can do this:
- use social media! Set up a Facebook page, and Instagram or even a Twitter account and post teasers of your books there, post updates of when you are uploading your chapters, give clues to what the mystery could be or what drama will happen, things like that.
-Posting a message on your message board when you are going to update your book as well can also help.
- If you have any favourite authors, you can inbox them or comment asking for them to read your book, if you're lucky, other people will see and read it even if the person you wanted to read it, doesn't.
- Remember that there is a clubs section and advertising your book on there by either being blunt and just asking or asking for advice + saying the name of your book and people may feel they have to read it to then help you, that is a very simple and easy way to promote yourself.
- Enter competitions, although it is unlikely I'd do this myself, some of you may want and if you do enter one, it is a good way to get your book discovered and even better if you win it!
- When you are already writing a book, advertising a new book or promoting the second book you are in the middle of writing. If some of your readers genuinely love your writing they would check it out.
