Tags are genuinely really really useful, they are used to help readers find your book in a certain genre and can be especially useful if someone had seen your book before but lost it and tags can easily be used so that they can find your book again which means adding more views and votes!! Not only that but you can get discovered a lot easier.
First of all, what would you put as a tag?
Here are a few common ideas:
- The genre your book is in (even if it is in multiple.)
- It's also a good idea to put your username and/or your real name, no one will know it's you if you put your real name but it can help.
- Put every subject you can find in your book, e.g. #jokes #humor #death #gore etc.
- Put character names in it too!
Don't think it just has to be these, though! If you get stuck and run out of ideas you can switch it up, for example, for the tags in this book I used; #advice #tips #help #book #bookadvice #bookhelp #booktips #writing #writingadvice #writingtips #wtitinghelp
See what I did? I've helped widen the search by just switching it up, we can't guarantee everyone will search the exact same thing so switching up the tags like that can really help.
I recommend using between using 10-max. amount of tags. You need to use as many as you can to help you out because honestly, tags are incredibly useful and they are so easy to make!
