First of all, what is good vocab? It's the use of synonyms (different words that mean the same thing) and basically big words!
What are synonyms exactly? Well, they are words that people use to lower the risk of repetition, no doubt some repetition is good but when it is done excessively, your story can become incredibly boring, very quickly.
Just because I am nice, I shall give you a few examples of synonyms:
Scared:
Terrified, horrified, fearful
Happy:
Joyful, cheerful, ecstatic
Calm:
Tranquil, relaxed, lazed
Using different words like these for the same thing can help create a more advanced looking book and can really engage and challenge readers, a skill that if you master well, will get you plenty of votes.
I hope this (although small) piece of advice helped you!!
Good luck writing :-)
