Why is a good title needed?
Because it needs to capture the readers!
Why is a good description needed?
To interest and engage the readers!
How can you make sure you have these done well?
=> Make sure the title is short but is significant to your story and can easily capture the eye of your readers.
=> The description can't be too long! Readers don't want to spend 5 minutes reading the description to then get into the book and have it all spoil for them.
=> In the description you can't give too much of the plot away, otherwise, the whole story would be ruined!! Make sure you give enough of the plot away to only capture the interest of the readers, only include the key points of the plot but don't give away any of the mystery!
DON'T FORGET ~
Always put warnings of any type including any trigger warnings or warnings of sexual activity etc, I mean who likes going into a book which seems completely innocent and then all of a sudden BAM in comes the sex and the self-harm and the characters getting abused! People need to know what type of book they're reading and need to be able to brace themselves for any sort of mature content.
