Love Poem

Gene is the first thing Zane thinks of,
At the beginning of every year.
Two lovers,
Never thought to be,
Are the best valentines,
And that's something everyone could see.
They are each other's lucky charm,
Never meant to cause the other harm.
No matter how weak their Easter spirits may be,
That doesn't stop them from making their love be free.
When the rain falls during storm showers,
All they can do is think of each other being flowers.
On the 4th of July, every single year,
It seems as though they've defeated yet another fear.
On the spookiest night of the year,
Not one of them sheds a single tear.
In November, when they thank the stars,
It seems as though their love is driving a car.
(A/N: *insert Lenny face*)
Each other is what they wish for,
Each other is what they pay for.

So now, today,
Walking hand in hand on pale golden sands,
An ice blue diamond, encrusted in a silver ring,
Rests inside of a velvety scarlet box,
That hides in Gene's pocket,
As they go along.

Obtaining the courage to do such a thing,
He pulls out the silver ring.
Tears fall from the other's eye,
With words that guarantee that they will never day goodbye.
They share a kiss, with much more meaning than before.
As the waves soothingly wash onto the shore.
This was the day their love became more.

Love is red,
Heartbreak is blue.
Every day is the same,
But not for them,
Because they don't play each other as a game.

(This is my first love poem, so please don't judge...)
