Alexander Hamilton did not expect his internship to be in a mental asylum. Like, really? Of all places they could stick teenagers to work, a loony bin? Seriously?
However, as a workaholic desperate to prove himself as a good law student, he sticks in and works hard. It actually isn't as bad as he expected; it's bright and sunny, his boss is reasonable, and the food isn't as bad as the school lunches. He doesn't work with any dangerous people, either. The worst he has had to deal with so far is George King kissing him and telling him to pass it on to his boss, Washington (which he did not do). Oh, and his colleague Jefferson, who's head is so far up his own ass it's a wonder he can even see Hamilton in order to judge him.
Enter John Laurens. A well-meaning teenager who just happened to end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Oh, and he killed a man, but that's not important.
He doesn't seem crazy. In fact, he seems friendly. Hamilton and him see to get along, and though his mind is whispering that this is all a trick, Hamilton befriends the young man. However, when friendship threatens to blossom into something more, Hamilton becomes worried. He can't love a murderer, can he?
