Tyler is betrothed to Josh. Neither of them are happy about this, but Tyler accepts it. He's sure he will grow to love Josh eventually.

There's just a few problems...

First of all, Josh isn't as optimistic about the engagement. Why should he have to marry somebody he doesn't even know just to keep a stupid alliance or whatever? It's not fair! He's not even twenty yet; he hasn't had a chance to do anything with his life yes now he's expected to marry some princess and settle down? No.

Also, Tyler's parents are getting sick of him. They keep warning him that if he doesn't snap out of this "phase" soon, they're going to disown him. They don't understand that Tyler was born this way. He's a boy, born into the wrong body. Nobody understands.

Until him and Josh actually meet, not even aware of who the other is. They click instantly and are soon close friends. Just as their friendship begins to blossom into something more, they realise who the other is.

Alternatively, Tyler is engaged to Jenna, and Josh is her servant. They still meet unwittingly, but then it turns out that Tyler is engaged to his boyfriend's boss.
