I saw two feet come to a stop in front of me and slowly lifted my head, my eyes trailing up to meet Bellamy's. He had a slight grin on his face, and as I studied his expression, I couldn't help but notice how the lighting seemed to show his freckles so much more. I shook that thought from my head.

"You okay down there?"

"Depends," I mumbled back in reply, slightly annoyed at him for his response to this morning. I did hold grudges, it was true, but I had managed to push it aside a little more today - Finn and my mom were much more important. Although, I felt my mood unavoidably brought down by their situation too, so I wasn't exactly feeling great.

"I'm sorry about earlier," he stated, as I looked away, leaning my head back against the wall. "I was worried about you. I heard about your mom. Have you been to see her?"

"Yeah," I replied, still not wanting to look up at him. "I guess there's no point though, really. She's not gonna make it if the Grounders attack."

"Billie–"

"Would you just–" I cut off, shaking my head with a sigh, rethinking my words. I didn't want Bellamy to go. I wanted him to stay. "Sorry."

I finally decided to glance up at him again, and I noticed he held his hand out, which I stared at for a moment before hesitantly taking, allowing him to pull me up. We stood close to each other, neither of us deciding to move away. I felt the sudden desire to blurt out what I'd been thinking for days.

"Bell," I started, before I could even stop myself. My heart pounded, and I feared where this was going to lead us. "That night, when we went to find Finn–"

"I know," he said, his eyes focused heavily on mine. I was unsure on what he meant. He knew how I felt but didn't feel the same? He knew how I felt because he felt the same? He just knew something?

"You know?"

I only realised he was still holding my hand at that moment because he took my other, holding them both tightly in his. I noticed his much larger hands practically swallowed mine. I began to feel dizzy.

"I haven't stopped thinking about that night," he stated, his dark eyes gazing into mine with intensity. My breath hitched in my throat all of a sudden.

"Well, that makes two of us."

"Billie–" he spoke, at the exact same time as I said his name. We both paused for a moment, and I couldn't help but smile slightly. "You first," he said, an amused grin pulling at his lips.

"No, you can go first," I said, trying to keep the nerves from wavering my voice. I was very glad that Bellamy was holding my hands tightly, otherwise they would have been noticeably shaking.

"Okay," he breathed out, as my eyes locked on him, taking in every single detail. "Billie, I care about you a lot. And I just can't lose you. Not right now, not ever." He moved one of his hands, tentatively touching my face.

"Show me," I told him quietly, my hand slipping from his grip. Something in the air changed between us, sparking a new, deeper feeling.

His lips pressed against mine without hesitation, as I curled my fingers around his jacket. He slid his hands to my hips, the two us moving back slightly until my back hit the wall. He tilted his head, deepening the kiss, whilst my arms moved to the back of his neck.

My stomach had tied itself in knots and I began to feel heat rising on my cheeks, realising that whilst nobody was around, we were still in a public area. "Bellamy," I mumbled against his lips, my voice sounding hoarse. "Bell-"

He detached his lips from mine and pulled away, his face still lingering inches away. Without saying a word, he took my hand again and led the way to go inside. We passed a couple of guards, but I was too giddy to feel awkward about it any longer.
