Entering the competition itself brings with it hidden merits. You've all written something new, something challenging, something that furthers your career as a writer even in some small way. Every story you write is a step towards your next masterpiece -- always remember that!
Writing is competitive out in the world of authors, but as authors we are not competitors. Always draw inspiration from your fellow writer, always support them and you will grow too. I've seen a lot of you already doing this and I'm proud of you, so be sure to give the winners of this round your congratulations. Good gestures always have a way of coming back around.
