Chapter 23 - Final Chance

"One moment please" Taehyung politely said as he was stressing out trying to complete orders. Jungkook could see how packed it was and how stressed his boyfriend was. He stepped away from his group and immediately walked towards the counter.

"Hey were are you going?" Jimin asked as the young male continued to walk from them.

Taehyung was rushing behind the counter to complete previously made orders and serve the customers at the till. He suddenly tripped over his own feet and began to fall, only to be caught by Jungkook.

"Hey" Jungkook smirked, looking down at Taehyung.

"Hey" Taehyung replied out of breath from running around, feeling slightly embarrassed at his clumsiness. Jungkook pulled him up to his feet and made sure the older was steady before he let him go.

"What's going on?" Jungkook asked as he stood behind the counter with Taehyung as his boyfriend continued to serve customers as they spoke.

"Most of the staff--would you like a slice of cake with that?--caught the flu and the manager isn't in--here you go sir!--so I'm having to run it while he's gone--take this to the table over there" Taehyung answered while continuing his job. Jungkook saw how tired Taehyung was looking as he was swamped with trying to complete all these orders and was worried his boyfriend might fall again. He saw that Taehyung approached the counter to serve another customer only for the younger to step in.

"I got it" he said to the male with a wink, making Taehyung blush in response. Taehyung turned away to continue making coffee while Jungkook serve.

"What can I get you today?" he asked the customer. Both the two worked behind the counter in complete unison. As soon as Jungkook had stepped in to help, orders were being completed and the queue was getting shorter and shorter by the minute. The couple helped each other whenever they could like it was second nature to the two. Taehyung felt so relieved that Jungkook had arrived to help out. It made his adoration for the younger grow stronger. Soon enough the queue was dying down and Jungkook turned to his boyfriend smiling.

"Jungkook" a customer called, catching said male's attention. He turned to face his group of friends who were now at the front of the queue.

"Oh hey guys" he greeted feeling slightly nervous. Jungkook stood there realising his friends have seen him working. Taehyung saw behind him that Jungkook was frozen for some reason so he went over to help.

"Oh" Taehyung greeted, realising who they were. "How are you guys?"

"Good thanks" Jimin answered.

"Why is Jungkook behind the counter?" Hoseok asked. Taehyung saw how his boyfriend tensed beside him. He saw that the younger looked at him nervously. In an attempt to calm him down, Taehyung slipped in hand into Jungkook's. Both of them fitted perfectly, to which Jungkook felt more at ease. The warmth from his boyfriend's hand made him feel calm. He smiled at Taehyung and turned back to his friends.

"Because-" he took a deep breath, "I work here" he said with confidence. As soon as he said that, he felt happy. He felt proud being able to say he worked somewhere, regardless of his background or anything. Free from restriction, he was his own person. No longer sheltered, now feeling new things. He felt Taehyung's hold on his hand tighten and the older's arm finding itself around his. The love they felt heating their entire bodies. Both, smiling to each other. "And me and Taehyung are dating" he continued with even greater confidence than before.

"Oh" Jimin replied, "Okay", finishing with a smile.

"Can we get a drink now?" Yoongi asked grumpily as he cuddled up to Jimin as they stood in the line.
