Chapter 19 - A Fresh Start

A/N: here's another update. Sorry if it's a little weak and short...

"Table for two? Right this way please" the male smiled. Taehyung just stared as he saw how the other was wearing an apron like him and was working. Shocked didn't even begin to cover it. Taehyung was wide eyed as his eyes connected with the male's who winked at him and proceeded to serve customers. Taehyung blushed and could only say one thing.

"J-Jungkook?!"

Taehyung could only stare in shock. The one guy who seemed to make his whole life heat up was in front of him, in his workplace, wearing an apron. Taehyung noted how Jungkook served all his customers with an adorable smile. The stars in the sky were less bright that the young ones smile. Even though he should be working himself, Taehyung could only just stand frozen. Jungkook looked up and caught gaze with the older.

"Oh hi Taehyung" Jungkook greeted him with a smile. Taehyung just gaped.

"Uh hi, Jungkook..." He replied a little confused at the other's presence.

"Taehyung" the manager called out. Taehyung turned in response. "Can you help out at the counter please?"

"Yes sir!" Taehyung bowed and started to walk to the counter to serve the building queue of customers.

"See you after work?" Jungkook asked and grinned at the older, practically killing him inside.

"Uh, sure" Taehyung blushed, replying absentmindedly and walked off. He felt hot as he found his way to the counter. He had never noticed how handsome Jungkook looked in a work outfit. Although deep down, he was hesitant at why the younger suddenly appeared at his workplace and is now somehow working with him. He shook of the sensation for now and flashed a smile at the paying customers as he served.

The work day had been a busy one. Customers seemed to have been constantly coming inside. Taehyung barely got a break since he got back and was exhausted from lack of sleep but he never let it show. He didn't get to speak to Jungkook much during his shift. There were just a few exchanged glances. Even though, the gazes they shared seemed to give Taehyung energy sparks that kept him going but he still couldn't figure out the reason Jungkook was there. Currently, Taehyung was mopping the floor clean as it was late at night and there weren't any customers. Everyone else had already gone home.

"Are you okay closing the store tonight Taehyung?" The manager asked as he walked out of the office wearing his coat.

"Yes sir. Enjoy you're evening!" Taehyung bowed.

"Night Taehyung" the manager said as he left through the door. With a deep sigh, Taehyung continued cleaning. Whilst cleaning the floor, the table and taking out the rubbish, he couldn't help but reflect on earlier events especially with what occurred during his time at Jungkook's house. He was trying to figure out what exactly were they, what exactly was Jungkook doing at his work. There were questions that Taehyung didn't know the answer to. After finishing up, he collected his things and left out the front door, locking it after he came outside in the cold air. Pulling his coat closer into his body, he turned to start walking home only to come face to face with Jungkook who was leaning on the wall of the shop.

"Jungkook!" Taehyung said, startled. "What are you doing here?"

"Well I said I'd see you after work didn't I?" Jungkook replied giggling slightly at the older's forgetfulness. Taehyung blushed in embarrassment. "So can I walk with you?" He asked politely. The older nodded and started to walk home with Jungkook following close behind.

The walk was silent and somewhat tense. The air was neither hot nor cold. It was just regular. Taehyung couldn't help but continue to question Jungkook's motives. Jungkook however just kept glancing to the beautiful make that was walking next to him. Even though Taehyung was in a different light now his past was revealed to him, he still thought of the older as the same angel he fell for. He also noticed that Taehyung seemed to be in deep thought, hence the silence. As they were walking through the nearby park, Jungkook noticed that there was a small food van that was open which selling hot food.

"Hey Tae" Jungkook called, catching the said male's attention. "Do you want to get a snack?"

"Um, okay" Taehyung replied, a little unsure with is answer. They both walked over towards the van. Jungkook told Taehyung to wait at one of the tables that were surrounding the it. Taehyung complied and watched Jungkook order two cups of ramen for the both of them from afar. The younger had come back with the hot food and handed one to Taehyung.

"Thank you" he said as he grasped the warm container, heating his hands from the night chill. Winter seemed to get stronger at night. Jungkook smiled and sat down in front of Taehyung, eating his ramen. While Jungkook was taking fair amounts of mouthfuls, Taehyung was barely eating it. The older's head was down, once again in deep thought.

"Is something wrong?" Jungkook asked.

"What are you doing?" Taehyung asked bluntly, not looking up. He didn't mean to be so direct but he wanted answers.

"What do you mean?" The younger questioned in confusion.

"I mean what are you doing appearing at my work?" Taehyung said looking directly at Jungkook. Jungkook just sighed.

"Look Taehyung" Jungkook started, getting the older's full attention. "I asked your manager if I could work there after school because I wanted to get closer to you." Taehyung just stared back with slightly reddened cheeks.

'To get closer to me?' He thought to himself.

"I didn't want you to think of me like that guy from your past. I'm different and I wanted you to see that. I wanted you to see that you aren't lower than anyone and money means nothing to me" he continued. Tears of happiness began to form behind Taehyung's eyes at the younger's thoughtfulness. He knew that Jungkook was telling the truth. Every word was fact. No words could describe at how much Taehyung appreciated what Jungkook was doing. No one had ever done that for him. He didn't even know what to say.

"There's one more thing" Jungkook said, as a blush started to slowly creep onto his cheeks. Taehyung nodded for the younger to continue. "I wanted us to start over. So you can see the real me, without the wealth. So you can see the real Jungkook rather than some privileged person." The blush grew bigger on his face, Taehyung's too.

"I-I'd like that. Very much" Taehyung responded with a small smile. Jungkook turned back with wide eyes.

"Really?!" Jungkook said surprised. He wasn't expecting Taehyung to say yes immediately. Taehyung nodded quickly with a smile. The air began warmer, both the males heated up and not just from the ramen. Both grinned at each other. Jungkook put his hand out in front of Taehyung, who just looked back in slight confusion.

"I'm Jungkook. Nice to meet you" he grinned. Taehyung giggled at his innocence. The older took the younger's hand and shook it.

"I'm Taehyung. It's nice to meet you too" he smiled back. Both laughed and continued their evening in peace. They both continued their meals, laughing and enjoying each other's company despite how late it was. In that moment, Taehyung realised that it was a clean slate on their relationship. It was a fresh start for the both of them as they rebuilt the connections they both shared into the winter night.

A/N: Hey! So here is another chapter. So sorry for the delay. It looks like Jungkook has found a way for him and Taehyung to start over, no? But there may be some trouble ahead for the two, so what do you think might happen? Let me know because I would like to know what you guys think! :)

In my opinion, this story is starting to come together now which means I'm going to be sad when it ends (although I don't know when that will be yet luckily because I have many ideas...) ANYWAY....
