I sat in front of the TV,
tears streaming down my face.
There was a showing of the shooting in Orlando.
It's been a whole year since this happened.
A whole year
since 50 lives were taken
and hundreds of thousands of hearts were broken.
They didn't even do anything wrong.
But they were gay,
and that made all the difference.
Feeling my lunch coming up,
I turned off the channel
before running to the bathroom.
