City Of Stars {Frank Iero}

This is loosely based on La La Land (Song is up there^^), you guys should go check it out because that movie is literally my oxygen for the moment, italics is singing btw

"Mommy!" I shoot up in bed and rush out of the room to my daughter. "Cherry? What's wrong sweetie?" I wipe her tears off of her cheeks and kiss her forehead "I heard something break downstairs" she sniffs and I rub her head "I'm gonna go check, okay? Stay up here for me honey" I whisper and slowly get off of her bed and sneak out of the room, leaving the door cracked.  I turn on the hall light and hear a shoe clatter on the floor. I carefully walk down the stairs into the living room only to be faced with the short stature of my husband. "What the hell, Frankie!?" I yell and hear clattering down the stairs. I run over to him and he hugs me, picking me up as there's a yelp behind me "Daddy!" I hear Cherry yell and he gently puts me down, connecting our lips in the process. "There's my little monster!" He laughs and picks her up, spinning her around and holding her over his head "Oh, I missed you" he whispers and I cross my arms "I would be jealous but she is adorable" the both laugh and he walks over to me again, kissing me for longer this time "Yuck!" Cherry grimaces, breaking us apart. We both laugh at her and go to sit on the couch, listening to Frank talk about tour nonstop. Cherry yawns and puts her head on his shoulder, falling asleep as he speaks, he stops and looks down at her. I got to pick her up but he shakes his head and picks her up instead "Don't worry, I'll be back". He takes her upstairs and I glance over at the piano in the corner, I sigh.

I walk over and sit down, playing with the keys a little bit until I play the familiar tune I haven't played in a very long time. I play it for a little while and I hear Frank humming a little bit, looking over at me, he smiles a little and starts singing quietly.

"City of stars
Are you shining just for me?
City of stars
There's so much that I can't see

Who knows?
I felt it from the first embrace I shared with you"

I smile at him and look at my hands as I play the notes.

"That now our dreams
They've finally come true"

He comes and sits down next to me, resting his head on my shoulder as I sing.

"City of stars

Just one thing everybody wants
There in the bars
And through the smokescreen of the crowded restaurants"

We both laugh quietly and his arm goes around my waist, rubbing my side

"It's love
Yes, all we're looking for is love from someone else"

"A rush"
"A glance"
"A touch"
A dance"

We sing together, voices melding together with a soft feeling building up in my heart for him.

"To look in somebody's eyes
To light up the skies
To open the world and send them reeling
A voice that says, I'll be here
And you'll be alright
I don't care if I know
'Cause all that I need's this crazy feeling"

We both smile a little wider and laugh.

"A rat-tat-tat on my heart..."

He looks at me as he sings by himself.

"Think I want it to stay"

Are you shining just for me?
City of stars"

I stop playing and grab his hand.

"You never shined so brightly"

He looks at me and kisses me again softly, "I am always gonna love you" I say, his smile falls a little bit and he holds my face in his hands "I'm always gonna love you too, I promise" I hug him and laugh, tears on my face as I pull away. He wipes my cheeks and holds my hand tighter "Will you play me something?" I nod and play some notes with one hand, just putting my emotions in those few keys. I don't think I could stop loving him if I tried.
