you said you'd catch me

I sit in the soft glow of the overcast afternoon. It's 17:49.

My hands become entangled in my messy hair, I've been tousling it nervously.

My gut twists.

My mind depairs.

My chest compresses.

My heartbeat irregular.

Sudden piercing pain left of my sternum feels like cardiac arrest.

Is this what you're capable of doing to me?

It's my own error for loving a flight risk.

The damaged unconsciously draw me in like the plague. I don't let go.

My teeth have sunken into you but you've dissolved between my jaws.

You once said you'd catch me if I fell.

Now broken bones lie in the bottom of a ravine.
