Chapter 29: What Dating is

"Hey."

Jumin whispered, fingers running through Seven's hair.

"Are you still... awake?"

He asked, his voice low.

The redhead next to him nuzzled closer affectionately.

"Mm..."

Seven hummed softly, giving it as the simplest answer he could.

Jumin blinked, his eyes already tiring.

"What... exactly is dating?"

He questioned out loud, before listening for the shorter boy's answer.

There was silence for a moment, as if none of them really knew.

Seven hesitated with his answer.

"I- I think... dating... Well...."

He closed his mouth after a while, figuring that he wasn't going to able to come up with an answer in such a short while.

Then he did a little more thinking and began a new reply.

"... I guess it's like a stage."

He shrugged, arms coming to wrap around the taller boy's back.

"A stage before marriage, right?"

The redhead muttered, slightly embarassed with the mention of marriage.

Jumin nodded, pulling the shorter boy closer towards him.

"I don't know much about dating, myself, actually."

The raven-haired boy admitted.

Seven met his gaze.

"But Jaehee says you do well at sweet-talk and all that. That's how you get women to sign contracts with the company, right?"

The redhead asked.

Jumin clicked his tongue.

"That's wrong... Flirting isn't dating."

He corrected, and Seven looked up at him quizzically.

The taller boy kissed his forehead.

"I don't know much about dating, but I know that flirting is not its equivalent."

Jumin finished finally.

Seven looked down at their entangled legs under the sheets.

It's... not flirting.

It's an important stage before marriage.

What exactly do you do when you're dating?

Seven blinked, his eyes focused on the crook of Jumin's neck.

"I think when you date...

... you learn to love, don't you?"

He asked, wondering if his answer sounded correct to the taller boy.

Jumin smiled.

"Mm."
