Chapter 22: Love Interest

Now it was midnight.

Jumin's coat hung on the chair that sat in front of his desk.

Seven's laptop and mobile devices lay on the floor, scattered around messily on the rug and parquet flooring.

And as for those two-

-They were already asleep.

Or rather, Seven was asleep.

Because Jumin definitely wasn't.

The black-haired man was up and awake, gazing at the boy sleeping against his chest.

He eyed Seven fondly, and ran his fingers through the latter's hair.

It feels a bit like a dream...

His face was merely inches away from the redhead's, and although his body was temped to lean closer, he decided not to.

And just like that.

Our lips are about to touch, but an invisible border forbids me to.

Not against his will.

Jumin grit his teeth, frustrated.

I know I've fallen.

I've fallen in love with him.

I've fallen... so badly.

He gripped his chest, his heart conflicted with feelings.

He's so... beautiful.

The black-haired man flinched when the redhead next to him stirred a little.

He held his breath.

Don't wake up.

Please don't wake up.

Don't see the way I look at you.

Jumin withdrew his hand, and then confirmed that the redhead was still asleep.

He sighed, relieved.

I love your kisses and hugs.

But this relationship...

There is no in-between.

We're still friends.

Friends with questionable experiences with each other.

He shook his head.

The more I fall for you, the more mistakes I'll make.

I don't want you to see me as someone possessive and controlling.

I can be selfish and jealous.

I don't want you to see that, either.

Jumin bit his lip, irritated, and he leaned closer to the redhead, but let his lips touch the latter's cheek instead.

"Goodnight, Angel."

He whispered, giving the shorter boy another gentle kiss on the cheek.

This is the most.

Jumin averted his gaze from the sleeping figure.

He pulled the sheets over both himself and the redhead sadly.

If I do more than what I already have, things will go downhill.

I know it.

The black-haired man let Seven's head rest on his arm, his gaze sweeping over the sleeping boy, and his cheeks turned pink.

I hope this crush won't last long.

Because I don't want my heart to be tossed around by you any further.

And just like that, he began to doze off, happy with just the fact that he was sharing the same bed as his...

.... crush.

- Was what he called the feeling.

But not for any longer, a crush.

But maybe for much longer, a love interest.
