The autumn wind blows, making the dead leaves fall from the tree and covering the ground in red and orange shades.

Luke Hemmings, your best friend, bundles up in his puffy black jacket he also had a grey Bennie on his head. His hands are stuffed in his pockets as he shivers in the cold air.

You sat next to Luke on the park bench, and your jacket was zipped up as far as it would go. Little kids bounce and run around the playground. Your sister is one of the many kids running around the community playground. Luke glanced over at you and smiled, not that you noticed. You were busy focusing on not freezing in the chilly wind. Pushing your hair out of your face as the wind gushed around you. Looking over at Luke, who was drawing patterns on the back of his hand with his finger totally bored out of his mind,. You giggled lightly over at him, making him look over at you with a confused look.

Luke is your best friend; you've known him as long as you can remember. "(Y/n) I'm ready to go home; it's cold," Mackenzie, your sister, said. Her pink coat snuggled close to her, and Emma, her best friend, stood next to her. The little blonde girl is also freezing. Luke chuckled lightly at the freezing 7-year-olds and stood up and started walking down the park path towards home. Emma and Mackenzie run after him, giggling. You are following slowly behind, glancing around at the park. And how the sun was slowly setting, the trees looked dark, and the sun poked through them, making it look picture perfect. As you crossed the street, you jumped on Luke's back, taking him by surprise.

"You scared me," he gasped, putting his hand over his heart and being dramatic. Luke was always dramatic in a cute way; you liked that about him. You always liked how he was quiet around people he wasn't sure about or knew. He's always funny when he is around you, and he makes jokes all the time.

You love how his blue eyes light up when something interests him. His hair is always perfect, and his eyes are always a pretty deep blue. You had to admit that your best friend is attractive. You never really revealed that you sort of have a small crush on him. When people ask if you and him are dating, you always laugh it off, never giving it a second thought. Maybe that's because he's such a good friend, and you can't lose him. Footsteps running up the driveway knock you out of your thoughts. Jumping off Luke's back, you awkwardly look up at him.

"Thanks for going to the park with me," you mumbled lightly. Why must you be so awkward? He always goes to the park with you, but knowing the thoughts of you and him possibly being more than friends intrudes on your mind.

"Yeah, no problem," Luke laughs, scratching the back of his neck and looking down at you. Oh, how you loved how tall he is! "Can I tell you something?" Luke asks, looking down at you with deep blue eyes that make you fall in love with him. Are you really in love with him? Of course you are; he's your best friend, but do you love him more than just that friendship kind of love?

"I guess," Luke laughs at you, and instead of talking, he leans in and presses a kiss on your lips. You don't kiss back at first, surprised that both of you had something more on your brian. He definitely took a chance.  As he starts to pull away, you wrap your arms around his neck, pulling in a deeper kiss. Maybe it was time to be more than friends.

(Tbh, I don't know where I was going with this, and I'm new at this; I've never put my story online before.)
