Chapter IX - Miserable

DAN: (sees phil, immediately walks over) "Phil!"

PHIL: "Hey Dan."

DAN: "Good you're still here. I was going to ask you to stay."

PHIL: (blushes) "What?"

DAN: "Basically, I took your advice, and I had a conversation with Jess. She said she would be heading back home at this time and that she might stop by for a coffee."

PHIL: "That's great Dan. I told you she likes you."

DAN: "It's going to be so awkward."

PHIL: (laughs) "It'll be fine."

DAN: "Stay?"

PHIL: (hesitant) "I need to go shopping..."

DAN: "It'll only be a few minutes."

PHIL: "Fine."

PHIL: "Well you know what they say... You are what you eat."

DAN: (disbelieving, laughs) "Are you trying to call me a dick? I didn't think you had it in you."

PHIL: (winks) "I'm just full of surprises."

DAN: "Are you high?"

PHIL: "High on life."

DAN: (burst out laughing) "You're so weird!"

PHIL: "You like it. You wish you were as weird as me."

DAN: (pauses, tilts his head, holding back more laughter) "Alright."

JESS: "Hey, guys. What's so funny?"

DAN: (accusing) "Phil called me a dick."

PHIL: "No, I never. I just said you are what you eat."

JESS: "I always thought Dan was more of an asshole."

DAN: (places a cup of coffee in front of Jess) "Yeah, you're right."

PHIL: (covers his face with his hands) "Stop, I used to be innocent. I don't want to think about what Dan eats."

JESS: "Yes you do. You're up next on the menu."

PHIL: "Ew, ew, please, no."

DAN: (screeching) "Jess you're hilarious."

JESS: (sipping her coffee) "True."

PHIL: (holding his head) "The mental images are too much."

DAN: (winks) "You know you like it."

JESS: "Who wouldn't?"

PHIL: "Me!"

JESS: "I'm a bit jealous, Phil, to be honest."
