He doesn't seem too surprised since he's seen how badass you are and it wouldn't be too hard to believe anyways.
Sam:
He seems surprised at first. He tries to teach you how to do good research as when you do it you get a bit sloppy, but you insist your method is fine.
Cas:
You can't really tell if he is surprised or not because he doesn't show much emotion. He ultimately decides that it makes sense and tests you on lore to make sure you are really as skilled as you claim to be.
