Marilyn POV:

I knew exactly where they are.
I felt it.

Are you, are you...
Coming to the tree?
They strung up a man,
They say who murdered three.

I put on my black tights.
Then my thin armor on top.

Strange things did happen here,
No stranger would it be.
If we met at midnight,
In the hanging tree.

Next came my tanktop.
Then a T-shirt.
Finally, the suit armor.

Are you, are you,
Coming to the tree?
Where I told you to run,
So we'd both be free.
Strange things did happen here,
No stranger would it be...
If we met at midnight...
In the hanging tree.

I smiled at the image of Pewdiepie running from my men.
A grin plastered across my face at the thought of his constant tripping, Pilot smiling smuggly, then my nod of approval.

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree?
Wear a necklace of rope,
(Line modified:)
Wear a necklace of hope,
Side by side with me.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.

I adjusted my leg pieces. Then my arms.
I ran the fabric along my smooth skin on the first arm, then to the next arm, shivering at the scarred flesh from my cut from that day.

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree?
Where dead man called out,
For his love to flee.
Strange things did happen here...
No stranger would it be.

If we met at midnight.

In the hanging tree.

I laced my boots and strapped my crossbow over my shoulder.
I tied my wild, curly, tangled blonde hair back into a knotted ponytail.
My face was covered with dirt already.
Guns were at my sides.
And a man was outside.

"Lily." He said.
I turned to him.
"Hmm?" I asked.
"I'm scared." He said.
I laughed.
"Oh, I'm not scared for us." He grinned, smuggly.

"I'm scared for them."

Skylar POV:

"Keegan. We aren't going to make that jump." I told him.
He turned to me.
"Here."
He lifted me bridal style, and soon we were falling.
He covered my mouth to keep me from screaming.
Finally, I opened my eyes. We were touching the ground, standing in an open ditch.
He set me down and I stood up.
He leapt up a couple of times, finally on top of it, and held out his hand.
I followed along.
"There it is." He said.
"What?" I asked, looking over to where he was pointing.
"You don't see it?" He asked.
I looked at him.
"Uh... A tree?"
"Not just any tree." He grinned.

"The Hanging Tree."

Sam POV:

"Macie?" I asked.
She looked up.
"Yes?"
"How is she? Marilyn?" I asked.
"Crazy." Macie grinned.
"Yeah, figured." I smiled.
"She and her brother."
"Aiden?" I asked.
She shook her head.
"No. His name is Keegan, I think."
I nodded.
"Maybe I read the wrong article."
But I knew I hadn't.

Lui POV:

I sighed as I hear a small cry sound out.
"Kayle. It's so early." I whispered, getting up.

3:15 AM.

He looked at me with watery eyes and cried.
I sighed, giving him a bottle.
He drank a fifth of it until he fell asleep, sucking on the nipple.
I tucked the blanket around him and turned on the spinny thing at the top of his crib. I forgot the name of it, regardless of Macie talking over and over about getting one.
I missed her.
I was still in mourning, but I felt so alone.
I needed someone to talk to.
And, as if he could read my mind, someone knocked on the door.
I let Nogla into the room.
"Hey." He said, leaning against the door, awkwardly.
"Hey." I said back.
He sighed.
"I'm still sorry about what happened. It's hard raising a child on your own." He said.
I nodded.
"It is. There's just so much loneliness."
He looked at me.
"You don't have to be lonely."
I stared back.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
He shook his hand and waved it off.
"Nothing."
I sighed and shivered.
I sat on my bed and grabbed a blanket.
"I'm sorry. It's cold in here."
He nodded, silently.
Thinking.
"Aren't you cold?" I asked.
He shrugged.
I sighed.
"Come on."
I patted the spot next to me.
He looked at me, hesitatant, and then sat down, sharing the blanket with me.
"Lui, I have some things to tell you." He said.

Nogla POV:

"Okay. Go ahead." Lui said.
I threw my arms around him.
"You're honestly the best friend I've ever had." I said.
He smiled.
"Thank you. You're my best friend, too. You've always been, since we met."
I grinned.
That made me so happy.
Silence crept upon us and slowly, little by little, he seemed to be getting closer into my lap.
Which wasn't a good thing.
But it wasn't a bad thing either.
I tried my hardest not to think of him in my lap.
But I still failed.
I closed my legs as tight together as I could.
"About me raising Kayle alone," Lui continued.
"I'm sure he wouldn't mind you being around. If you didn't mind either." He grinned.
I nodded.
"I'm honored." I laughed.
Then he was in my lap.
And it was silent.
I was secretly hoping he did not know what was going on down there.
But I knew he could feel it.
My face was tinted red and I was embarrassed.
"Hey, Daithi."
"Yes?" I asked.
"You don't have to be so uncomfortable. We're friends." He said.
I nodded.
"Okay..."
"After all, friends do have cravings." He said.
The heat became apparent on my face and I seemed to radiate redness.
"Uh..." I was silent.
"Nogla, care to tell me why you're having that little issue?" he asked.
I looked up, embarrassed.
He was smiling a little.
"I'm... So... Sorry... It's been a long time and I'll leave if you want, I'm sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable, it's just that you're in my lap and I've just been really..." I was stuttering, my embarrassment seeping through.
"No. It's okay. Me too." He said.
Then he grinded into me.
I was utterly shocked as I let out a small moan.
He smirked.
"Promise me you won't tell her."
I looked at him.
"I promise."

Delirious POV:

"Jonathan?" He said.
We just woke up; we were lying in bed.
"Yes?" I asked.
He looked at me.
"What are your thoughts on... A child?" He asked me.
I went dead silent.
My eyes were closed.
"Delirious?" He asked again.
"I'm here." I assured him.
It was quiet.
"What do you mean?" I asked, knowing perfectly well what he meant.
"A child. Us having one." He said.
I opened my eyes.
"It'd be dangerous." I said.
He cocked his head.
"Marilyn. She'd probably pull her normal shit." I said.
He sighed.
"What about after she's gone?"
"We'd probably be dead then." I joked.
He rolled his eyes.
He grabbed my hand and kissed my lips.
"I love you, baby boy." He said.
I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not a baby. You are." I smiled.
He shook his head.
"Nope. You're the baby boy."
He grinned, too, and tackled me.
We fell off the bed and his arms were wrapped around my torso when a loud bang rang out.
"Jesus, Evan, Jonathan, at least wait until we wake up to fuck. We're trying to sleep." Marcel called out.
We both laughed and I kissed his forehead.
