I rushed over to Frodo, who was sitting quietly in his study.

I couldn't wait to tell him how Merry confessed his love for me

I couldn't wait to tell him how Merry confessed his love for me. I quietly knocked on the study door. "Frodo? May I come in?" I said, softly.
Frodo turned around and smiled weakly at me. "Of course." He replied. I slowly stepped into the room and I stood by Frodo's side. "Frodo, I have some exciting news!" I told him. "What news, dear?" "You're not going to believe this but, Merry is in love with me! Isn't that wonderful?" "Yes, it is." Frodo replied, in a small voice.
Frodo didn't seem like himself. It looked like something was bothering him. "Frodo? Is everything alright?" I asked him, politely.

Frodo stared down into his lap and clasped his hands together

Frodo stared down into his lap and clasped his hands together. "I'm fine, dear. I'm happy for you and Merry. I'm so proud of you. Very proud." he said, melancholy.
"Frodo, won't you please tell me what's wrong?" I begged. Frodo let out a loud sigh and he scratched at his curly black hair. He looked up at me with his ocean blue eyes. "Frodo? What's wrong?" I asked again.

"Do you think I'm a good father, Brianna?" He asked me

"Do you think I'm a good father, Brianna?" He asked me. "Of you are, Frodo." I heartened. I placed a comforting hand on Frodo's shoulder and I kneeled down beside him. "You really think so?" He asked me, in a low voice. "Yes. Frodo I couldn't have asked for a better adoptive father."
"That's very kind of you to say that, my dear." "It's true, Frodo. I love you with all of my heart." "So do I." Frodo whispered. A light shined through the study window and onto Frodo's pale, angelic face. I reached up and gave Frodo a great big hug. Frodo hugged me back and he kissed me on the cheek.
"I'm afraid, my dear, Brianna." said Frodo, in a soft tone of voice. "Why are you afraid, Frodo?" Frodo felt a giant lump growing in his throat. "You're growing up too fast. I'm afraid that you'll never want to spend more time with me as you get older." "Oh, Frodo." I got up from the floor and I came up behind him. I rested my head against his neck. "No matter how old I am, I will always want to spend time with you. Always."

"Oh, my dear

"Oh, my dear. My darling dear. You always know how to cheer me right up." Frodo's eyes turned a light shade of blue.
"Say, would you like to join me for afternoon tea?" he asked, politely. "I would love to, Frodo." Frodo got up from his chair and he followed me into the kitchen.
