I spotted Max. "What are you doing?" I asked, kneeling next to him.
Max looked at me. "I dunno, I just thought that maybe if she could read my mind maybe I could show her..." His voice drifted off.
I shook my head. "It doesn’t work like that." Then I thought for a second. I might as well explain it to him. “You see Max, the physical body and the soul have a special connection. When the body is hurt, the soul has injuries too. A demon’s spirit has a looser connection, so thus has the ability to travel between bodies. When you surge you can momentarily send your spirit onto another’s soul. Your demon usually attacks the unknown soul, hurting the body. But on some occasions, it can do the opposite.” I raised my eyebrows.
Max looked doubtful. "OK... so my spirit can also heal?"
I nodded. “Try it.”
He put his hand on her shoulder and I saw his eyes close in concentration. Logan sat up, her eyes wide. "Whoa!" she looked up at us. "What happened?"
I grinned. "I've got a lot to tell you..."
