A/N.. this imagine takes place when Alex is a little older than 18 btw.

"Hey, it's Alex you're trying to reach. Sorry I can't answer you right now, but leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks!" Your boyfriend, Alex's, voicemail says.

"Hey, Alex, it's me again," you say into the phone. "Where are you? Why haven't you answered any of my calls? I miss you and I want to make sure you're okay. Please call me back; I love you."

After your boyfriend's big win at his game earlier tonight, he told you he was going out with some of his teammates to celebrate. But that was about five hours ago. It's currently 3 am and you're waiting up for him, again.

At first, he wasn't like this. When he went out with his teammates, he would only stay for a couple hours and then come home to cuddle with you. But lately it's been getting worse. Alex stayed out longer. He never called you or answered your calls. You stayed up late just for him to come barging into your shared apartment like a drunken maniac. And you were getting tired of it.

You knew you loved him. But, you also knew you couldn't put up with this anymore.

As you sit on the couch, wrapped up in your blanket, you hear keys rattling on the other side of the door. The door unlocks and slams open as Alex walks into the apartment. He slams the door shut. You turn the TV off and get up off of the couch. You walk over to Alex and make sure he's okay.

He fixes his eyes on you, "well hey there, beautiful."

"Alex," is all you can say before he grabs your waist and starts biting your neck, clearly trying to leave his mark on you.

"Have I ever told you how much I love you?" He slurs as he moves his hands all over your body. "I love you, baby. I love you so much."

"Alex, stop." You struggle to remove yourself from his grasp. "Alex, get off of me!" He finally let's go of you. "What the hell is your problem?!" You snap.

"I just want you to know that I love you," he continues to slur.

"No, I mean why do you keep staying out so late? You never answer my calls. You never return my calls. I stay up waiting for you to come home to make sure you make it home safe. And what do I get in return? You come home and act like a drunken asshole!" You argue.

"I was just out having a good time with the guys! You always go out with your best friends and have fun, so why can't I?!" He argues back.

"You don't have to be drunk to have a good time! And what about the calls? How come you never answer my calls?"

"I was too busy with the boys to even check my phone!"

"Okay, so if you're 'too busy' then maybe I should just go." You start to walk away, but Alex grabs your shoulder and stops you. "Alex, I'm tired of all of this. I can't do this anymore. I can't stay up for you all night, especially since you don't answer my calls anymore. I'm done."

You start to walk away, but Alex stops you again. "You want to break up?" He looks into your teary eyes. His eyes are teary as well.

You look away from him, "yeah, I do."

"No. No, you don't mean that."

"Yes, Alex. I do. I'm done, it's over."

You run to your room and pack your bag. You figure that your best friend will let you stay at her place until you're able to work some things out. Once you're finished packing, you grab your stuff and walk out of your room, right past Alex, and out the door. Just before you close the door, you hear Alex say, "I love you, Y/N."

As you drive to your best friend, Y/F/N's house, tears stream down your face. All you could think about was Alex and your guys' breakup. 'Did I really do the right thing? Or was I just being stupid and stubborn?'

When you get to Y/F/N's house, you knock on the door. As you wait for her to come to the door, you feel a few raindrops fall. Finally, the door opens and Y/F/N immediately gets concerned when she sees you. Instead of saying anything, she pulls you into a hug and let's you cry on her shoulder. She welcomes you into her house. You explain to her what happened between you and Alex.

For the next hour, you watch some Netflix and binge eat a bunch of snacks. Then, you hear a knock on the door. Y/F/N gets up to answer it. When she opens it, she tells you that someone is there for you.

You get up and see that Alex is standing on her porch. It is pouring rain. "Alex, what are you doing here?" You question.

"I screwed up and I'm sorry and I'm here to get you back," Alex explains.

You pull him into the house so he's not standing outside in the pouring rain.

"Y/N, I am so sorry for how I've been acting lately. I should've answered your calls or returned them to let you know I was safe. I was being extremely selfish," he apologizes with tears in his eyes. "I'll stop staying out late with the guys and I'll spend more time at home with you, I promise. Just please, come back home."

"Alex," you start, putting your hand on his cheek and look into his eyes. "I don't mind you going out and hanging with your teammates. But, I just wish you would call me."

"Okay, I promise to do that. Just please come home with me. Unless, you seriously wanted to break up."

"No, no. I definitely do not want to break up. I love you way too much to ever do want that."

"I love you so much, too." Alex grabs your face a collides his lips with yours to give you a passionate kiss.

You tell your best friend that you and Alex made up and that you're going back home. You also thank her for the comfort earlier.
