Jakub's POV

As I follow my teammates out on the ice, I hear cheering. It's not as loud as all the fans at Capital One Arena, but it's enough to get the team going. Today my team, the Washington Capitals, are having an open practice to get ready for game one of round one in the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Columbus Blue Jackets. It's an open practice so fans could come and watch too.

We start off with some easy drills and work our way up to more harder drills. After many different drills, Coach Trotz let's us rest for a few minutes. I skate over to the bench and grab my water bottle. I guzzle down a lot of water. Then, I catch my breath. A few of my teammates skate over to me.

During open practice, us single guys like to point out cute girls that are there. We decide whether they're calm and cute or a crazy fangirl. It's rare to find a girl who isn't a crazy fangirl. I hear one of my teammates say to me, "Jakub, check that girl out. She's been staring at you for a hot minute now."

I scan the crowd to find the girl they're talking about. Once I find her, I admire her looks. Her (your hair length) straight/curly (your hair color) hair shapes her face perfectly. She's too far away for me to see every detail and feature of her face. But I can tell that she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. Something's telling me that I have to get to know her. I'm just not sure how I'm going to do that.

After practice, I go back into the locker room, shower, and then change into my street clothes. Instead of going out the back way that the players usually go, I decide to go out of the arena the way that the public goes in hopes I can find that girl. Luckily, there's not too many fans left over so no one is asking me for a picture or autograph, although I wouldn't mind. But, the girl isn't there. If only I could see her again.

Your POV

It's been quite a busy day in the ER of the hospital you work at. You've been on your feet almost all day today. Yesterday you took a nice break from work. You treated yourself with going to watch your favorite hockey team, the Washington Capitals, practice. You got to see your favorite player, Jakub Vrana, in person.

You're pretty sure he caught you staring at him. You had noticed him staring back at you which made you a little anxious. But you just let it go because out of all the people he's seen and will see, he'll forget about you. You're probably just another fan to him. Or so you thought.

You really wanted to go to the game tonight. It's game one of round one in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Capitals are facing the Columbus Blue Jackets. You couldn't go because you were stuck at work. Not that you hated your job; you actually love what you do. But you would rather be at hockey right now.

All of a sudden you hear some one call you by your doctor name. You turn your head to see two paramedics rushing a young man in on a stretcher. You rush towards them, inspecting the man. He looks really familiar but you're not exactly sure who it is.

"Twenty-two year old male, hockey accident, knocked unconscious," the one paramedic explains as you help move him into an empty room.

Not worrying about who the patient is, you help the paramedics get him off of the stretcher and onto the hospital bed. Once they leave, you quickly do your protocol. You make sure he has a pulse, which he does. Then, you decide what kinds of scans and x-rays need to be done to see what exactly happened. You give the other doctor orders so she can send him on his way to get his x-rays done.

About an hour later, that same doctor hands you a clipboard. "You might wanna take this one," she says, chuckling along the way.

"Why?" You ask.

She doesn't respond and keeps walking. Usually she wouldn't ignore you like that, so you can tell something is up. You look down at the paper. When you read the name of the patient your heart skips a beat. Jakub Vrana.

You can't believe that your favorite hockey player is now one of your patients. You had been to busy with your work to even watch the game tonight to know that Jakub got hurt. You start to fangirl a little bit. You read the paper some more to understand why he had to come here. You take a deep breath, telling yourself to play it cool when you walk in there to check on him. Here goes nothing.

"Hi, Jakub. My name is Doctor Y/L/N. How are you feeling?" I ask when I get into the room.

"Where am I?" He asks, clearly oblivious as to what happened.

"You're in the hospital. Jakub, can you tell me what happened?" I ask.

"I don't know. I can't remember. Did I pass out or something?"

"I think so. Do you remember anything you did today?"

"I..uh..I was at my hockey game." He takes a pause. "My hockey game! The Capitals! Did they win?"

"I'm not sure. I can look it up for you after I get done with your checkup. What is the last thing you remember from your hockey game?"

"All I remember is a player on the other team coming at me at full speed. Then I guess I blacked out."

"I hate to say this, but I have some bad news. Your only injury is that you have a fractured rib. You'll need surgery on it, but you're also going to be out the rest of the season." It hurt you to say that.

Instead of answering, Jakub just lets out a huge sigh. You decide to leave him to rest. "I'm gonna let you rest for a little bit," you say, starting to walk out of the room.

You stop dead in your tracks when you hear Jakub say, "Dr. Y/L/N?"

You turn around, "yeah?"

"Have I seen you somewhere before?" He asks.

"Um, no. I don't think so," you answer, not wanting to bring up the practice yesterday just in case he wasn't really staring at you.

"Were you at the Capitals open practice yesterday?"

"Yeah, yeah I was."

All of a sudden a smile forms on his face. "Well, if there's anything I do remember, it's you."

You look at him, confused. "What?"

"I remember at practice yesterday, a couple of my teammates pointed you out to me. They said you kept staring at me." You blush, feeling embarrassed. "I looked at you and I couldn't take my eyes off of you. I realized that you're the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. I was hoping I could catch you after the practice, but I didn't do I figured I'd never see you again."

"What a coincidence that you got hurt." A moment of awkward silence passes. "I mean, it's a coincidence that you got hurt and I ended up being your doctor."

He laughs. "Maybe it was destiny."

You chuckle, "yeah, maybe."

"Can I ask you something?" You nod your head. He moves his hand, gesturing for you to come closer. "What's your first name?"

You smile, "Y/N."

Jakub reaches his hand out and grabs yours. "Well, Y/N," he starts. "Once I get out of here and I'm not crippled anymore, would you let me take you out?"

You start to mentally freak out. Did, Jakub Vrana, your favorite hockey player, just ask you out on a date? You close your eyes, planning on opening them to see if you're just dreaming. You open your eyes to see Jakub staring at you, clearly waiting for an answer. This is real life.

"Yes, I would love to go out with you!" You finally answer.

He smiles and engulfs you into a short but sweet hug. You cant believe you just scored a date with your favorite hockey player!

Requested by I_am_a_penguin223 . I think I might've changed up the scenario just a tad bit, but anyways I hope you like it!

Also, so I wrote this one like last Wednesday and I was planning on posting it so it'd like go along with game 1. I couldn't post it until now because my internet wasn't working and then I got really busy, so just bear with me please. :)
