CHAPTER 29:

Emily POV

Johnny and I lead Cherry to our house where Dallas supposedly was. Cherry seemed to be okay but had some minor cuts and bruises in multiple places. We lead her to the door of my house and I opened the door and yelled, " Dallas are you here?" I heard some noise in the kitchen which I figured was him and I brought Cherry over to the couch. " I'm in the kitchen!" Yelled Dallas. I told Johnny to watch Cherry. I went into the kitchen and saw my brother. " Hey bro, you may want to see this. Your girlfriend was being hurt by Randy and his stupid friends. Shes all messed up. " I said looking at my brother. His glance towards me changed and he said, " What the hell happened, sis? Is she okay?" angrily. " I don't know but I took care of Randy. She says she is fine but I don't know,Dal." I said trying to explain it to him. " Take me to Cherry." Said Dallas trying to hold back his rage. I lead him into the living room where Cherry was lying on the couch. " Hey Dallas." Said Cherry weakly looking at Dallas. He said hey back and at down with her.

Dallas POV

I looked down at my poor girlfriend Cherry and saw her cuts and bruises. " Who did this?" I asked Cherry trying to be calm for her and Emily made an exit to go upstairs. " It was Randy,David, and Kyle." Said my girlfriend clearly in pain. " What bothers you, babe?" I asked her. " It just hurts everywhere and I think I have a cut on my neck. It hurts to talk, too." she answered patiently looking up at me. " We should take you to a hospital." I told Cherry and she glanced at me for a few seconds before nodding in agreement. I yelled up the stairs to them to tell them where I was going. I picked up Cherry and headed to Buck's car which I had been borrowing. I opened the passenger seat and sat Cherry down before closing the door. I started to walk around the other side of the car to get in when my head started to bombard itself with thoughts. What if she wasn't okay? I kept thinking to myself. I got in to the car and started it up. I drove the beat up car to the hospital while keeping a close eye on Cherry. She seemed to get worse the closer we got to the hospital. I was starting to freak out inside but I felt like I couldn't show it at all. Cherry looked at me and said, " Don't worry Dallas. I will be fine." I looked at her lovingly and kissed her forehead. " Cherry we have only been dating for a week but I feel like I we've been dating forever. " I said out of nowhere. She looked at me and said, " Let's do this right,Dallas." She leaned in and the two of us kissed. My mind went to peace for a few seconds but when we pulled away I couldn't stop thinking about what could happen to her as we pulled into the hospital. " We are here,Babe." I told Cherry and got out so I could help her into the hospital. I helped her out and she practically fell into my arms but I caught her and managed to get her inside. I went in and told the front desk that she needed immediate care. I balanced Cherry and the lady at the front desk looked at her, quizzically. It's going to be okay,Dallas it has to be...I thought. I almost lost Johnny and Emily. I didn't want to lose Cherry. Some nurses came over to us and had me help them take Cherry to a room. We entered the room and the nurses had her. At least I thought they did until Cherry dropped to the ground. She was unconscious. The nurses talked quietly to each other. " WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS JUST DOING STANDING HERE? HELP MY FUCKIN GIRLFRIEND!" I yelled at the nurses angrily. They all exchanged glances and said, "Please calm down is in a serious condition." And they opened the door to let me out of the room.I tried to get back into the room but they locked it. What we they doing to her? I went into the waiting room and sat down to wait. I called Emily and Johnny at home but they didn't pick up. Darry and the rest were at school or work. I waited by myself for Cherry. I had been waiting two hours with no information or sign of Cherry. I started to feel something that I had only felt before for one other person,my younger sister Emily. It was love and nothing was stronger than the power of love I thought to myself. A few months ago if anyone asked me about love, my reply would have been something around no one gives a shit about love around here. My opinion changed with Cherry. I had fallen in love after just a week. I asked the nurse for information but I wasn't family so I got nothing. I kept sitting there waiting. I got up and called Emily again. This time, she answered and said, " Hey Dallas sorry I didn't answer earlier. Johnny and I were hanging in my room. What do you need?" " Cherry is unconscious here at the hospital and no one will tell me anything. I'm freaking out." Emily tried to clam me down but I told her to shut up. A nurse came up to me me so I hung up. " Hello sir are you Dallas Winston, Sherri Valances boyfriend?" asked the nurse and I nodded. " I have some information for you." she went on. " Tell me please." I said impatiently. " She is unconscious. Whatever punctured and cut her neck is messing up her blood flow and stopped the blood in her body. She is not doing well dear, not at all. Her blood is not moving through her body and she can't wake up for now. We are trying to restart her system but it may not work really well." said the nurse trying to make it sound less bad than it is. I looked at her with worry and thanked her before she walked off. I walked away. What if she dies I thought it myself. That wouldn't happen, that couldn't happen could it? I erased the idea from my head. I could not stop thinking about her poor, unconscious body on the ground. I told the nurses I was going to go for a walk but I would be back for Cherry. They said it was fine. I left and walked outside. I needed to clear my head. I didn't what I was doing but I walked onwards. " Randy you are a terrible person she is in the breaking up with you." I heard Cherry's friend yell down the street. Randy now was my chance to rip him apart for what he did to Cherry. I walked towards the sound and was face to face with Randy Anderson. Marcia saw me before storming away. I looked at Randy clearly pissed. " Hey Randy, I just saw that breakup and I came to give you a present to make you feel better." I told Randy as fake as possible. He smiled and smirked at me before asking what it was. "You'll soon see..." I said fakely looking at him. I grabbed Randy by the neck and shoved him up against the wall of a building. " I was joking asshole, I will rip you apart piece by piece for hurting my girlfriend." I said loudly putting pressure on him as I held him to the wall. I kicked Randy in the shin and helped him back. I pulled out my black handled switchblade and smirked. I gripped the switchblade tightly while holding him to the wall. " You crossed the line,Randy. You hurt something I care about. " I said nearly choking Randy. "You love her don't you?" Muttered Randy stupidly choking. "Yes I do ." I said sincerely and I kelt choking Randy and cut his neck with the switch. He muttered something before falling to the ground, silently. I put the switch away and walked away from Randy's lifeless body. What's do is done, I hoped Cherry wouldn't hate me for it but I had too. I walked back to the hospital for Cherry and thought about how I loved her,so. When I got back to the hospital Marcia her best friend was in the waiting room, too. I said hello to her and sat down. A nurse came over to me and said, " She's okay Dallas. You can come visit her now but she is barely conscious but I'm sure she would love to hear your voice." I smiled at her as she lead me to the room with Cherry in it. I entered the room and the first thing I saw was her bright, red hair . I walked over to her. She looked at me and smiled. The nurse left us in privacy. " Hey babe I was worried about you." I said honestly. " I know. " she replied simply. " I was afraid I was going to lose you and I can't lose you,Cherry Valance. I care about you." I told Cherry and looked at her before saying, "I love you...I do." and the words flowed from my mouth.
