"Light..." I slowly sunk to my knees in front of her. My voice broke as I spoke. She was still mumbling. "Listen, Light. It's not your fault." I tried to get her attention, tried to calm her. She was shaking uncontrollably and I remembered the gun in her hand. "Listen to me,
Lightning. It is not your fault." I spoke as I slowly moved my hand to reach for the gun. She noticed my movements though and drew her hand with the gun back.

"It's my fault!" she said sternly.

"Honey, listen to me, please..." I cried. "Please." But she wouldn't. She kept mumbling. "Listen to me!!" I screamed and took her face in my hands. She stopped everything and stared at me. She moved back slowly. I let my hands fall to my sides. She crawled away from me and stood up. The grip on her gun tightened. "Lightning... please give me your gun." I pleaded, holding out my hand.

"My. Fault." she cried and quickly raised the gun up to her head.

No.

Before I realized it, I jumped up and lunged at her. I pulled down her arm as fast as possible and wrapped both my arms around her body, pinning her arms to her sides. No shot was fired. She fought me but I had her in a tight grip.

"I can't lose you too, Lightning! You're all I have left!" I screamed as I tried to still her. Ghoul had now rushed to my help and took the gun out of Light's hand. Suddenly Light broke down completely. She started shaking and sobbing hysterically.

"I need to get Bandit to D's! Bring Lightning inside!" Jet commanded and started up the car to bring Bandit into the medical room.

"Kobra... your gun." Ghoul said sternly and held out his hand.

"I'm fine, Ghoul..." I said, pressing a sobbing Light against my chest.

"Give me. Your gun." he growled.

"Are you fucking serious?" I snapped.

"Yes, I am." Ghoul wiggled his fingers impatiently.

"You motherfucker!" I yelled. "I'm not gonna fucking kill myself!" I let go off Light and stood up. Ghoul's face stayed stone cold, though his eyes were red and puffy and his cheeks wet. "I thought we were friends! Friends trust each other!"

"Kobra. Gun." he pressed.

"Or what? What are you gonna do, hobbit?" I asked.

"Kobra Kid.... just give me your fucking gun." Ghoul sighed, tired. I grit my teeth, but forcefully shoved my gun in his hand. "Thank you." he nodded and went inside.

I turned back to Light and helped her up.

"I'm sorry, Kobra." she sniffed.

"I know." I breathed. I lead her into the bedroom and sat her down on the bed. "Are you hurt?" I asked her.

"No." she whispered.

"Your hip okay?" I asked.

"Yes." she nodded.

"Okay." I whispered. "Lie down. Try to sleep." I said.

"What about you? Are you okay?" she asked. Was I okay... obviously not.

"I'll be fine..." I assured. "Try to sleep. I'll join you in a minute." I said and left the bedroom.

I went outside. Party wasn't there. Just Dracs. I sat on the ground, leaning against the cabin wall.

"I put him in his bed." Ghoul said softly.

"Thank you." I said. He sat down next to me. We sat next to each other in silence. "I'm sorry for yelling at you." I said.

"I know. I don't blame you." he mumbled.

As we sat in silence I felt my throat tightening up. I knew I was about to cry and I knew that once I started I wouldn't stop for a while. My chin started shivering and my nose clogged up. Tears slowly streamed down my cheeks. I pulled my legs towards my chest and buried my face in my hands. That's when the first sob escaped my lips. They came out slowly - my body involuntarily tried to keep them in. When I finally let go I was a hysterical, sobbing mess. He finally had his daughter back. He was happy again. And then he had to die. My brother was dead. Dead. Forever. I would never see him laugh again. We had always been very close. Best friends. Now he was a lifeless body.

"I'm so sorry." Ghoul's voice broke. He embraced me in a tight hug and I sobbed into his shoulder. "Do you want me to leave you alone?" he asked.

"Please." I nodded.

"Of course." he stood up and took a step back. "Don't stay out for too long. It's cold." His face was pained, his eyes puffy. He might not have been Party's brother, but he loved him. He slowly turned and went inside.

I leant back and looked up into the sky. The moon and stars were shining bright. They were shining like nothing happened. Like I didn't just lose my brother. Like I didn't just lose my best friend. Like my heart didn't shatter into pieces. They shone like they always did. I got extremely angry at them. My sobbing got louder again until it turned into screaming. I was screaming at the sky, cursing the stars, telling the moon to go to hell, running around, kicking and punching things.

It took some time until I was lying on my side in the dirt, my legs pulled to my chest. The loud sobbing had stopped an hour ago, even my tears had dried. I was exhausted, but I didn't dare to sleep.

Suddenly a piercing scream broke the silence of the desert. Light. I immediately jumped up and rushed inside to the bedroom. I bolted into the room ready to fight whatever was there. There was nothing. Just Light sat up straight in the bed, panting and shaking. Her tear filled eyes looked at me. I slowly went over to her. I sat next to her on the bed and leant my back against the headboard. I pulled her into me. She rested her head on my chest. I stroked her hair and arm.

"It's okay. It was just a nightmare." I spoke softly, my voice hoarse from screaming.

Ghoul slowly entered the room.

"Nightmare?" he asked. He looked exhausted. I nodded at him. "Okay." he whispered and turned, pulling the door shut after him.

I wished all this to just be a giant nightmare. I wanted it to all just be in my head. But it wasn't. It was real.

Reality sucks.

A/N: Hey. I know, I know. The updates are coming very slowly. I'm sorry. I got a new job and it's taking a lot out of me and I'm just very tired when I get home I'm sorry.
