I walked into Potion's class with Professor Snape and spotted Alex right away, chatting with the girl called Hermione Granger.

"Can I sit here?" I asked, pointing to the seat next to her. Granger giggled and I saw Alex punch her arm. I couldn't help but snigger. Alex turned her attention to me and nodded. I slid into the seat and Crabbe and Goyle looked at me like I am a 3 headed dog. I merely shrugged. They are such idiots; I already told them about my feelings towards Alex. I looked back at her. It seemed that Granger had left to sit with Potter and Weasley in the table in front of us. Alex looked scared, and I took out my Potions materials. I saw Alex do the same out of the corner of my eye.

"Hello class. My name is Professor Snape and I am the Potions master. Today we will be learning how to make a potion that cures boils. Very simple if you follow the directions. Begin," Snape said. He pointed his wand at the blackboard and the directions popped up, including the page number in our textbook. I saw Alex quickly flip to the page and get up to get her materials. I had to think of something to do.

"Don't worry, I'll get them," I told her. She smiled at me and whispered her thanks. I nodded and went over to the storage cupboard. I grabbed the horned slugs, porcupine quills, and snake fangs. I handed her the supplies and she thanked me quietly. I followed the directions and watched Alex do it better than me. Her potion turned the blue color shown in the book. I looked at mine. It was a bit darker, but close enough.

"Excellent, Mr. Malfoy and Ms. Wilson. Full marks," Snape said, startling me. We muttered our thanks and he headed off to yell at Neville Longbottom.  I turned to Alex, and she smiled at me. I wanted to get somewhere with her.

"Hey, Alex? Do you want to be friends?" I asked. Her smile grew wider.

"Of course," she said. I attempted to smile, and I guess I succeeded because her smile got so big, it looked impossible to match. "Did you, Draco Malfoy, smile instead of smirk?" she asked. I couldn't help but chuckle and she laughed along.

"Yeah, I did," I replied. She laughed even more.

"Mr. Malfoy, Ms. Wilson, do I have to seperate you two?" Snape called to us. Everyone but Weasley looked at us and I felt heat crawl up my neck.

"Yes please," Weasley muttered. I glared at the back of his head. Class ended not too long after and I walked out with Alex.

He walked off to the Slytherin common room since that was the last class for Slytherins and Gryffindors. Ron fumed off while grabbing Harry's arm. I rolled my eyes at him; I couldn't stand him. Hermione beamed next to me.

"What?" I asked.

"Oh, you know what!" she said, giggling. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. She sighed. "Malfoy likes you!" I scoffed, so she continued. "First of all, he asked to sit with you. Then, he got potion ingredients for you. Then he asked you to be his friend. He obviously wants to get to know you better!" I never thought about it that way. Because of my silence, Hermione said, "Ha, I knew you would believe me. No arguments." She chuckled and sat down on the couch near Ron and Harry. I plopped down next to her and opened my Muggle book.

"The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe? That was my favorite!" Hermione said, looking at my book.

"Mine too. I told Mum and Dad I wanted a Muggle classic, and there turned out to be tons at Flourish and Blotts. I got a lot more," I said. Hermione looked completely excited. Harry raised an eyebrow at her extremely giddy face. I took her up to our dormitory to show her.
