"Hello, nice to meet you."Dani said kindly.
"I hope you aren't hitting on my girl,Riley!"threatened me Max.
"I'm not,I'm just saying the thruth."I shrugged.
"So you find my Grace cute?"she asked half angry and half laughing.
"Yes. Why? You don't?"I asked her smirking. Grace turned and eyed Max suspiciously. One wrong word and you are a dead woman,Max.
"So you think I'm not cute?"she asked her.
"No."Max replied which surprised Grace. "I find you absolutely stunning. The word cute can't describe how beautiful you are." Smooth and cheesy as shit. That's Max,ladies and gentlemen. Grace blushed at Max's words and hid her face in the crook of her neck. Max kissed the top of her head and turned back to us.
"Whipped!"I said to Max. Max just shrugged.
"What can I say? She's the best thing that ever happened to me."replied Max without any kind nervousness on her face. I rolled my eyes playfully.
"Break it up lover birds."I said and Grace finally turned her face to us. "what's up with you? How'd the shop?"I asked them. That shop will always be my favorite music store.
"Nothing new. Max finally talked with her parents."Grace said. Max has a bad relation with her parents. That's not my story to tell, but the fact that she finally talked with them is a huge milestone.
"The fuckers tried to buy me back. They think they can deal with every problem with money! They make me sick."Max spat out. I sighed. I can kinda relate to Max's situation. Tho my dad always showed that he cared about me,but the past few months I feel like he has vanished from my everyday life. I would be lying if I told you that I don't miss him, because I do. At least I have Madison with me.
"The store has gotten some new instruments and CDs. Erik asked for your address so he can send you some left over CDs and posters."Grace broke the silence with some really good news. Erik is the owner of the store. I met him only a couple of times, but he always gave me some plus CDs or string or anything that no one wanted to buy. He said that this is his way of saying thank you for my help. Even tho I just helped to pack things out and sometimes lock up.
"Cool,I'll send it to you later."I said happily.
"And say,Dani. How did you and Riley meet?" Max asked. Dani seemed surprised that she was asked.
"Umm...she saved me from a bully."Dani said and for some reason that made me feel extremely proud. Max seemed impressed and Grace looked proud of me.
"Our little girl grew up and now she's saving people. I'm so proud."said Max with fake tears in her eyes.
"Gee,thanks dad."I played along and that earned me a beautiful laugh from Dani. The corner of my lips turned upward. Crazy that she has such a big effect on me. We laughed some more, but then someone came in to the room where Max and Grace were. They exchanged a couple of words than they turned back to us.
"We gotta go now. Our break is over."explained Grace with a bittersweet smile.
"Break? I thought you already ended your shifts."I said confused. We usually were at Grace's place at this time.
"Yeah, but Melody quit last week. Sky finally recovered and they went back home."Max said. "That bastard. She really scared us."
"What happened to Sky?"I asked panicked. We might not keep in touch but she's a dear friend to me. How should I explain this. We have a really good time together,we know a lot of each other, but she's pretty busy. Ever since she moved away she tried to focus on her music and on having as much fun as possible. You might say that she's rushing on things and that she has a lot of time, since she's only 19. But I know better. Everyone who's close to Skylar Mason knows better.
