The ugly truth

7 2 1

It's only poetic to fall for monsters
And rejoice in the darkness they offer
To somehow feel at ease amidst the chaos
Of the craziest times
When a thousand storms combined
Left the city dry
And ugly
But beautiful if destruction is poetic to you
Some things aren't meant to be romanticized
Don't kiss my scars and tell they are a part of life
They are not
For once tell me the truth and admit that no one really knows where they're going
And tell me scars are ugly
Tell me scars shouldn't be carved on my skin and tell me you will wait all your life with me for them to heal
I'll let you kiss me then
And maybe it won't be poetic, it won't be beautiful
It will be raw,
and painfully normal,

But it will be true
