War

And my demons set fire to my dreams
They all crashed on the ground
Tears came streaming down my face, trying to put out that fire in my heart
That was burning me from the inside
But damn it felt so good
That warmth, that pain, that misery, they made me feel alive.
And the angels protecting me from above put down their halos and stood up for the fight
I was rolling around in bed, trying to find something to keep me awake at night
Fire!
And the shots broke through that cloudy mind
My demons crawled up to my side,
While my angel tried to hide from me.
And I injected you into my bloodstream
For you were always the cure to my sickening heart
But when that terrible war started
There was no turning back
So I fought for both sides until my legs gave out and I passed out with a curse coming out my mouth
Lying helpless in that house I once called home.
