It Happened

Let me tell you it's been like 7 months since I've met Killian and we are the best of friends. I think it's hilarious how we were both forced to be a part of an arranged marriage. And of course he doesn't love his fiancée as I don't love mine. I just love the fact that we are so alike yet different, hence the tail. I'm sitting there in my usual spot and I'm just staring out into the sea. That's when someone grabs my foot and I scream. "Did I scare you?" I'm touching my chest and my heart is pounding like crazy. I laugh and I splash water on Killian's face. He laughs and sits next to me. I smile and sigh. "What's wrong?" He grabs my hand and I held his hand tight. "I just I'm so tired of this, I really don't want to marry Robin." He smiles and sighs. "I know but you have too." I sigh. "Come here." He says as he extends his arms towards me. I smile and I scoot over and hug him. As I was hugging him I couldn't help but feel safe in his arms. He looked down at me and smiled. I couldn't help but feel all weird inside. We let go and he sighs. "So how's it going with Belle down there?" He sighs. "She's going crazy with all the wedding arrangements it's driving me insane." I laugh. "You insane?" He laughs. "I can be." He starts to tickle me and I'm laughing like crazy. "Killian stop!" I kept screaming. He was laughing and that's when I jumped into the water. "Race ya?" He lifts his eyebrow. "You think you can beat me?" I start to swim away and he laughs and dives in. He catches up to me and smiles. "See you can't beat me." I sink his head in and he grabs my hand and pulls me under. I see him underwater and I stick my tongue out at him. He smiles and I swim up to the surface. He comes up and laughs. "Seriously you think by sinking me you could beat me?" I laugh. "You know I can breathe underwater right?" "Hey doesn't hurt to try." He laughs. That's when we hear a familiar sound. It's Daisy our dolphin friend. "Hey girl." I smiled when Killian started to pet her. "Let's swim with her." I stayed there quiet. "Hey it will help you ease your mind from your problems." I nod and smile. "Ok as long as we stay close by." He grabbed my hand and we dove under with Daisy at our side. After minutes and minutes of swimming with Daisy, she lifts me up one more time into the air and I cannon ball in front of Killian. As I'm under Killian dives under and he smiles at me. I couldn't help it but I was honestly attracted to him. But I couldn't think like that I'm engaged and so is he and he's a merman. We both swim up to the surface and we are staring at each other. I was just staring at his face my heart was racing like crazy. We were both there floating in the ocean and he starts to lean in closer to me. He's smiling at me and starts to caress my cheek. That's when I feel his lips against mine. We started to kiss and boy was I melting. I put my hand in the back of his head as we continued to kiss. His kisses are so passionate yet sweet. He's holding me up so I wouldn't sink as we are kissing. We let go as we gasp for air. We smile and we just stayed there floating. "So..." Killian says and I looked at him and we laughed. "Umm, I think it's time we go back to our spot." I say in a low tone. He coughs and nods. We swim back to our spot and we sat there quietly. We looked at each other and smiled. "So what was that about?" I asked nervously. He smiles. "I don't know but I wouldn't mind doing it again." I smiled and blushed. "Killian what's going on?" He grabs my hand. "I think you know what's going on." I nod. That's when someone opens the door and Killian waves his hand and turns invisible. "Emma what are you doing here?" I look up and its Carol, the seamstress. "Emma you have your dress fitting right now." I felt Killian's hand move and I just smiled. "Ok Carol give me a minute and I'll be there." She stands there all annoyed. "Seriously Carol I'll meet you in your workshop." She scoffs and slams the door shut. I hear Killian laugh and he appears. "I guess you have work to do." I sigh. "I guess so." He leans in and kisses me one more time. I cup his cheek and I smile as I kiss him. We let go and our foreheads touch. I caress his cheek. "I love you Emma." I smile and I felt a tear roll down my cheek. "I love you too." He kisses my forehead. "I'll see you tomorrow same time ok love?" I nod. He caresses my face and I get up and I start to walk up the steps. I reach the door and he jumps into the water. I open the door and he waves goodbye. I wave back and he dives underwater. As I'm inside changing I couldn't help but remember the kiss. This was so wrong but it felt so right. I knew there was a special bond between us. I can't believe I fell in love with a merman, a merman! No it can't work between us, we live in two different worlds. I'm on land, he's in the sea but then again it shouldn't matter right? I'm always myself when I'm with Killian and I just love being with him. Oh boy I don't know what problems this might bring for us and our fiancées.

Killian's POV
As I'm swimming down to the palace I couldn't grasp the fact that I kissed Emma and that I told her I loved her. I could feel myself smiling like an idiot. Not going to lie I am head over heels for that woman but there's a tiny problem in all this, I'm a merman and she's a human. It's impossible for us to be together but I can not not be with her. She's my best friend and the one I love. I get to the palace and once inside I swam into the main dinning hall and Belle comes and plants one on me. I let go and I pull her away. "Everything ok?" She gives me a weird look. "Of course what can't I kiss my fiancé?" I nod. "Of course you can." She continues to kiss me and I couldn't help but think of Emma. We let go and Belle smiles. "Mmm, that was amazing Killian." I smile nervously. "So what are you working on?" She smiles and starts to tell me about her things but my mind totally wanders off and I start to think about Emma.
