"You know what, fuck you. I hate Christmas."

I said and chuckled as Lindi patronized me about how I shouldn't hate Christmas.

"It's supposed to be a fun time for love and joy and brings everyone together. And you celebrate the birth of Christ." She replies.

"Well I'll tell you one thing, that's a load of bullshit, do you see my family around? Second thing I'm going to tell you is that it's been proven that 'Jesus' was born in March not December and Christians just moved the date to make it into a holiday."

"How did they figure that out?" She asked with an odd look on her face. "Science." I simply said with a shrug and we both chuckled. We had been sitting in the mall for about twenty minutes now, just sitting in the cafeteria and sipping some coffee as we discuss certain subjects.

"So, any cute boys?"
She asks nudging me a little. "Lindi, you know I don't have time for the whole dating thing."
I chuckled. "You're just no fun."
She said with a slight pout. "Can't you just let me hook you up with a nice guy?"
She asked seeming desperate. "No thank you.." I laughed a little as she squinted angrily at me.
"Let's go shopping before I slap you..." She chuckles as we both get up and start walking into Khol's books.

"See, Lindi, this is where I find my dates."
I smiled. "I know.. All you do is read, you suck, when are you gonna go out and find an actual guy to have sex with and not just read about it?.."
I blushed a little and looked at her with a strange look on my scrunched face. "I hate to say it, but it's honestly none of your business. You wanna know why I like just reading..."
She thinks and then nods gently. "Because the men in these books can't hurt me in any way.." I said flipping through a book. "Aw, I'm sorry honey... I know you miss Brian."

I cringed immediately and shook my head when I heard my dreadful exs name. "I don't not miss him, I hate him."
I reassured her. "Sure, the only reason you didn't get along is because you wouldn't let him in your panties."
She chuckled. "Well excuse me for being modest. Fourth date we go on and he thinks just because he buys me popcorn and a movie ticket he can try and fuck me after. I shouldn't have to tell anyone that I don't want to fuck them and I have to have an explanation for why I won't. I just don't want to."
I said very blatantly. Lindi just laughed at me and shook her head. "Get your books while I go get another coffee.."
She said leaving me at the back of the shop while I looked.

I stood there, read the backs of various erotic romance books. I quickly turn to go pay and I bumped into someone and fell on the floor, my four books falling out of my hands as I fell on my ass. "Fuck.."
I said gently as I felt my bruised tail bone throbbed now. I looked up and saw a man, not really seeing his face as my vision was slightly blurry. "I apologize sir, I had no idea you were so close or else I wouldn't have-"
My vision quickly came back and I saw who it was.  "Poor little flower."
He said picking up my books and grabbing my hand, pulling me up in my feet and handing me my books. "You should watch where your going, doll. There are some scary people out here that would have been much crueler then you're used to."
He said with a large grin on his face as he saw all of my fear in my expression. "Go buy your little smut books now, I know how much you love them.."
He chuckled as he walked past me and I ran to out of the store, dropping the books on the floor.

I still heard his laughing as it rang in my ears while I quickly walked over to the coffee shop, seeing Lindi sitting with a guy and talking to him, laughing and smiling. I watched her move her feet up his leg and back down, giggling as he sat still and watched him move his hand to cover his crotch. She got up and took his hand, walking out of the cafe with the man and out of the mall. The one thing I noticed was that he had a wedding band. He was married and obviously not happy with what his wife was providing him with. I stood there and thought about how terrible people are and how they lie to you about so many things. I just watched one of my bestfriends possibly ruin a marriage. "That's why I stick to my books..." I said to myself as I started to walk out of the mall and I got a text from Lindi.
