This chapter is going to get a very very big change quite soon, meaning this chapter will no longer be the end of 'Speak Now', and that there will be way more chapters to come with this story. I wrote this ending a very long time ago, and now I want it changed and extended to end the way I always wanted it to. Be patient and peep this rare ending while you still can (it's so bad i'm sorry lol)

This whole changing the ending will in NO way effect the sequel that has been up for a while, so no need to worry about that! So when you finish this bad ending, you are more than welcome to start the sequel and keep your eyes, ears and bananas peeled for the new ending and chapters of this story!

also, I'm very aware that the Yule Ball was at Christmas, but I wanted to just add my own little twist because Fred and Nicki needed that time at the Burrow.

I stood In front of the floor length mirror, staring at my reflection in uncertainty. I tugged and pulled at the dress uncomfortably, now sighing in annoyance.

"Ugh, this was a stupid idea, why did I let you talk me into this?" I complained, looking to Lainey over my shoulder.

"Because it's a good idea, and you look magnificent!" She said, slipping her earrings in as she walked over and I groaned. Hermione handed me my white pump heels and I stared at them for a moment,

"Nicki, you can do this... I know you can. You're a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for. But if you can't do this, that's okay." Hermione spoke softly so Lainey wouldn't hear, and I smiled.

"No, you're right. I can do this. He's just a boy... I'm not gonna let a stupid boy weaken me." I told her, taking the heels and slipping them on. The girls all grinned at me and they headed out the room, and I looked at myself one last time. "Nicolette Hunter, you are good enough." I told my reflection, and I then ran after the girls. They all looked brilliant, and completely stunning in every way. George stood at the bottom of the staircase with Fred, failing to tell him who he was going with, all George's idea so he could teach Fred a lesson. My palms became sweaty from nerves as I stood around the corner of the staircase, preparing to descend down. "Breathe," I reminded myself as I watched the girls descend down the stairs, first Ginny, then Lainey and Hermione. Hermione looked stunning tonight and I knew Ron enough to know he'd be entirely jealous that she was going with Krum. I knew Ron liked Hermione; he had ever since the start of second year. Ron Weasley was smitten. I took deep breaths to calm myself and I turned the corner, standing at the top of the stairs. I stared into George's eyes only, an attempt to center myself, but all I could feel was Fred's burning holes in me. 'Don't trip. Don't trip. Don't trip.' I repeated those words as I walked down the very first step and George beamed up at me and I smiled back. I was glad that even though I wasn't going with Fred, I was going with my best friend. I couldn't help but feel Fred's eyes, no matter how hard I tried to ignore it. My eyes snapped to his, and I immediately regretted that decision. I almost stumbled, but remained upright, and then placed my hand on George's arm. George turned to Fred and smiled,

"Does she not look stunning tonight?" George said, making Fred's face turn angry,

"You didn't tell me you were coming with her." Fred spat at his brother, venom as he addressed me as 'her'.

"Well, I didn't think I needed to. Plus, I wanted it to be a surprise." George said, grinning as he looked at me. "Why?... Do you care?" George said, touching his heart and sounding apologetic.
