Six months clean
Six months without a coping method I considered my own
Six months they said it'd be easy by then
They lied
Kind of
You see they tell you once you start recovery gets easy
It doesn't
It never will
It never was
Razors don't automatically become shaving tools
In your head again
Scars don't instantly become memories
Life doesn't suddenly become easy again
It doesn't
It never will
But it does get easIER
You become more resistant to your demons
Your mind doesn't suffocate anymore
And sometimes you actually go to someone
For once
And talk about you
Instead of hiding in a shell
