Letting you go

Im letting you go
All the memories
All the pain
Will vanish
After i say this
Im letting you go
Because its time i moved on
Just as you did
Maybe its because
You were my first love
But it was as it was
Puppy love
That lasted but a month
And then vanished into thin air
Maybe i wasn't ready
For someone to break my heart
But you dont get a warning
For those types of things
We had some good times
Yes we did
I loved those movie marathons
Full of cuddles and laughs
And i loved hanging by a bonfire
With your arm secured around my waist
And my head resting on your shoulder
I loved the inside jokes we had
And the late night calls until 3am
Because one of us couldn't sleep
But I wasn't enough
I understand that
You and your hormones
Wanted someone else
But thats okay
Because i am good enough for me
And i don't need a lover
To make me happy
Maybe she didn't know
That we were together
And you just wanted a good time
Maybe she did know
But thats okay
Because I'm letting it go
I will probably
Forever miss
Your hugs
And your words of compassion
And how you always knew what to do
When i was upset
But you betrayed me
And my trust
And for that i am letting you go
Maybe she was a better match for you
Maybe she wasn't
But that i will never know
Because I'm letting you go
And one day
I will find someone
That treats me right
And doesn't cheat
Or leave
Or expect a lot from me
And i will be happy
And that it why
Im letting you go
Because
If i let you go
I can move on
And by letting you go
I let go of all the baggage
So now
